Wondering how much road banging these things can take. I just brought my '99 to Seattle, and the roads are really beat up. Also, lots of concrete. With the old suspension, the thing rides like a tank. It probably feels worse than it is, but I'm wondering just how tough these Kats are, particularly with regard to the front end. Would like to hear from somebody who's been operating in similar circumstances. |

I remember a post from a guy that ripped off a control arm mount or something after hitting a pothole. Wonder if this was around the bad weld time. ------------------ |

Mike Gatlin pulled a fender off in a pot hole at Grand Canyon event last year. Not a fun time. Ask Larry Lord, he spent an hour with a pocket knife to cut away the mud flap to get the car out. WOW! ------------------ |

You should try driving around the Detroit area!! Argh!!! We have the worst roads. I have a 99 also. Sometimes it's like driving an obstacle course!!!! But hey!!! I've gotten really good at it!!! ------------------ |

Find a good dentist. Your fillings will soon be falling out. After an hour in the dentist's chair anything will be more fun especially cruising in the cat. ------------------ |

Marc - that is a good point! Remind me to have IN-Phil check your fillings at Deadwood Ed now does root canals and crowns - no nitrous needed! |

That's okay Larry I'll have two bottles with me. Should be plenty to go around if I can keep from using it to make my cat purrrrrrrrr. ------------------ |

C.J. Wasn't it you the other day who said to someone who wrote about the "Pot Holes" and the Dream Cruise to "stop bashing the city of Detroit". It still has me worried and will need you to suggest the better way of getting to the Hotel from Canada. ------------------ |

Hey, I'm not bashing......just stating facts!!! Some areas are worse than others. Not to worry, though, the routes we will be taking are just fine!!!! We wouldn't deliberately make you drive through that!!! ------------------ |

Beware, I just switched to non-runflat tires in the back and THAT is an EXCELLENT question. ------------------ |
