O.K., here are the total production stats but, where are the cars? Are dealers loaded with them? Is DC hording them? Curious as to where they are hiding (untitled) COLOR TOTAL BUILT TOTAL SOLD
What gives? They quit making the purple a few years ago yet roughly 150 are still AWOL. Just curious..... ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

Mike has them secretly stored in the basement of the Krehel Prowler Museum in Houston.

Didn't GaryC say he was going to use a few of the left over prowlers for fence posts in his new landscaping project? ------------------ |

Our local dealer down the street has a silver and a Black Tie that they have had for quite a while on the showroom floor. We stopped in one day just to see what they wanted for them. Now I know why they are still sitting there...and we told him so, too! ------------------ |

CJ, Are these all at dealers? Do dealers really have a 97-98 Purple STILL on their showroom floors? Obviously these have been squirreled away somewhere. Something for all to keep in mind, with the demise of the prowler if you think a 98 purple, titled, with 8K miles on ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |

There are two possibilities. 1) The original dealer still has the car and it has never sold--There are quite a few 97-99-and 2000's on the ground at original dealers still! Or 2) The original deal sold it to another dealer or retail buyer and never reported the sale to Chrysler. I have a 1992 Viper (The 9th Viper ever built for retail sale) still on MSO with only 69 miles on it. Just a couple of answers to the question! Thanks Eric Lee |

quote: How did you buy a car and not title it? How could you get plates for it? pay taxes on it? (oh-oh) My 2000 silver only had 700 miles on it when I sold it and the Black-Tie had only 200 miles on it. I had to title both.

quote: Trey - Bill Luke D/C/P/J in Phx. still has a '97 Prowler on the showroom floor. I've been told it was #9 built, and is roped off for protection. I don't think anyone could buy it from Bill Luke, but could be wrong. I knew of a rural Nebraska Ford dealer who bought an old brick built high school which had a huge basement under it. Stored in it was a '64 Mustang convert, '64 XL500 convert, '65 Mustang GT, '65 XL500, and afew other cars all new, with the few miles delivered on them. In 1983, I ran into this dealer's son in LaPalma, CA., and he said the cars were still stored at that point. I always wondered if they would ever surface? ------------------

That is entirely possible. I would guess that a number of dealers are keeping the cat for themselves. Haven't titled it and sits on showroom floor! ------------------ |

quote: Going public in about 1.5 years. Company is only 2 years old and we exceed our burn rate this year. Problem with alot of dot.com's is they went public and had no revenue to back it up or were losing money monthly. We're on target to be a $100 million dollar company in 2002 (without going public). All revenue is recurring so if we quit selling now, each year after this we'd have 4.4 mill in revenue yearly. The market is also coming around but, they are more cautious right now. Alot are looking at us though because of the above. ------------------ Mods: 2001 Speed Yellow Porsche Cabriolet |
