How easy is it to get a test drive in a new Prowler? I have narrowed my search of a new toy down to a used Viper or a new prowler. But the test drive will be the deciding factor. Any friendly dealers or owner in the Austin Texas area?

All the dealers in my area say you can drive it after you bought it.

Alex11- We have our monthly get together this Sat. nite at 7:00 pm with the N. Texas Viper Club along with all our Prowlers. I'm SURE you can get the best of both worlds by coming up this Sat. nite. Let me know if we can do anything else.

An article in the May issue of Road & Track was a real eye opener for me regarding Vipers. The article was entitled
how good is a used viper.

Typical Service Prices
Chassis Lube $40.00
Oil & Filter Change $150.00
Cooling System Service $160.00
Tune Up $250.00
Differential Fluid Change $100.00
Plug Wires $350.00
(life span approx 20,000 miles

The article stated the Viper are quite maintenance intensive, though less than most exotics

Tune Up every 15,000-20,000 miles
Replace serpentine belt every 25,000 miles
Differential Fluid Change 8,000 to 15,000 miles
Cooling System Service two years or 24,000 miles
(according to the article not doing this can cause corression that will make the heads leak)

Just some food for thought. There was some excellent info and advice in this article.
