yep,, especially on some of the silvers,.(mine),, everyone swears up and down all the parts are painted the same time. But I will tell you , MINE DON'T MATCH. But with silver, even with the same paint, gun etc. if it is applied from a different direction it will look different

I noticed that on my yellow 2K,the headlight assemblies are a slightly different color than the rest of the car. It's really only noticeable under flourescent light-in daylight, I can't tell. I've been told it may have to do with the different refractive properties of the underlying material (aluminum vs. plastic). I suspect that teh headlights were a different paint run. Wadda ya think? Should I demand a repaint from DC? |

I have a yellow and havn't noticed any difference. If there is a difference, noone will notice but me, and that's after being pointed out. When people see the car they're too busy looking at me to see the paint difference. ------------------ |

Pirana, Yes.... I have also have silver and noticed that the the front panels do not match the rest of the car. It is most noticable in lower light however I chalked it up to beeing a fluke. At one point I thought the panels were replaced prior to shipping, or after they arrived at the dealer. Who knows!? Darryl Takerlight |

I was able to see the cars painted a few years ago. The bodypanels are painted on a frame with all the panels together. I believe they keep all the parts together, but the side panels could be exchanged from one to another. The Headlights, mirrors and dash are painted at the plant that makes them. My headlights are definately different than the rest of the car. Side panels look the same. Silver is a hard color to match and I have seen & heard more complaints with the silver not matching than any other color.

You can see on John Davies' banner that his side panels do not match. My red ones have a different tone to them also. ------------------ |
