always wanted one, ever since I saw an artist rendering in Car and Driver (or some such rag) back around 90-92. Never have really wanted another car, but this was a "when it is time, I will have one" so, now I have several. ------------------ |

I have had street rods for years, as I have gotten older (51) I don't care for the car running hot in slow traffic and fix this and that every other week. Now I have a car that looks wonderful, I can make changes to the bumpers, exhaust, etc and still get a 100,000 mile warrenty. This meets the needs I have, and is most of the reason I got one. |

Unique exciting look of the Prowler. Most of todays cars are not very exciting since they look like multicolored 'jellybeans', IMO. |

Saw a prowler on the road....it was something magical. Loved the looks! Wanted a bright color.....got red. Love it, people try to get me to trade it for other exotic cars, but my prowler is for keeps. |

I first saw the Prowler SEVERAL years ago at the auto show here in Los Angeles - it was the first year they had shown it ('93?). It told my wife - one of these days I will have that car! When they came out in '97 and I found out they were limited production and I found out how much they were selling for - I was VERY disappointed - even wrote DC a letter about it. Every year I kept up with the news on the kat - hoping for production changes or the way dealers changed their selling habits - I think I wrote DC a total of 3 letters regarding the way the dealers marked up the prices. It wasn't until this year that I was able to get my Kat and now that I have it - I LOVE IT! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it! ------------------ |

The reto hotrod look caught my attention, in a 1996 car magazine. The Plymouth name was a lock for me, as my late father always owned Plymouths, and I then decided I would have one and someday pass along to my grandson for family heritage. I knew original cats would be priced over my head, so I waited it out until Nov. 1999 when prices were getting down to MSRP. Found that price in Lincoln, Nebraska (my hometown and home of the #1 football team), and told the dealership: " I'll take the next one you get". Thought it was going to be black, but on Christmas Eve day, the silver cat came in. What a Christmas that was!!! Gary - I will spend all my unemployment $$$ to look better than you. It will be a challenge now , as you are such a striking fugure............ ------------------ Lone Wolf to Deadwood |

The look-I was missing my t-bucket and this yellow caught my eye. I thought the price was reasonable at the time which was MSRP with less then 600 miles and 1 month old. ------------------ |

Go easy on the vettes! I love my vette, raw HP. But the Prowler is just to COOL. I never really saw it and said I have to have one until last month or so and it hit me. I need one! So looked around, came here and read a bit and bought it. I am a bit compulsive! But I love the damn thing! What can I say. THE PROWLER ROCKS |

Saw the Prowler for the first time at Chryslers at Carlisle in 1994. I told my wife we would have one of those if they ever built them. When they announced the Cat would be built, I immediately went to the local dealer. I told the owner, who I have done business with since 1984, that I wanted his first Cat. In exchange for selling me the car at list I would buy Dakotas for my business until the Prowler was delivered. In all I purchased 7 Dakotas for the Company. The Prowler was delivered in February of 1998. The dealer asked me if I would consider waiting for his next Prowler. In exchange he would give my 25% of whatever he got over list for selling the '97. It was winter here and I couldn't drive it anyway so I agreed. The dealer was as good as his word and gave me $5,000 and sold me the yellow Cat at list in July of '98. I have been collecting Plymouths for 30 years. I have the first Plymouth (1928 Model Q) and the last Plymouth. It was definitely the look that sold me. ------------------ |

I got to see one at the Dallas Auto Show in 1996/97 and found a picture of it on the web and have had it as my wallpaper ever since. Looked at old Vettes and other nice rides, but only 1 stuck out, and for those who know me, I do tend to stick out in a crowd. Behold my PRRRPL Kat and she now has 13K + miles and looking forward to driving her to Crazy Horse and back via Colorado. OH YEAAAAAA ------------------ |

Cliff, Our stories are similar. I probably saw the drawings in car magazines, but seeing it in person in '93 did it for me. I told myself, and my wife at the time, if they build this; I WILL HAVE ONE! I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan back in '97. I decided I needed to start the process of achieving that goal. How could I make my money grow FASTER! I decided to research the stock market. It went well. I could have bought her at the beginning of '99, but I allowed fear to cloud my judgement. Then, about March of 2000, a friend told me that you NEVER know what will happen tomorrow, she said that if I was capable of making my dream come true today, DO IT! Within a month, on April 7th, 2000; I drove her off the lot. THAT was a special day. ------------------ |

Saw many pictures and then saw the real thing at the 97 Auto Show. I just stood there and drooled and drooled and drooled. Looked around at other cars but kept coming back. I am sure they had to clean the drool out of the carpet that night. Made up my mind that one way or the other it would be mine. ------------------ |

I think that mine might be more interesting than some as it was sort of an accident. I saw the car in print and I asked my brother, "Scum Ball the Wealthy One," (a Chrysler Dealer) if it would be a good idea to buy one. He said no, that they were too common, but I remained interested. Later on I decided that I really wanted to "collect" three different cars and add them to my already existing stash. I wanted a Delorean and I found one with only 9,300 miles on it. I also wanted a Allante and I found a 1993 with the the Northstar engine, in the right color and equipped as I desired. Lastly, I wanted a Prowler, and to that end, the rest of the my story is a bit unique. I bought my daughter a new Chevy Silverado truck and the local dealer wanted to give me nothing for her 2 year old Chrysler Sebring. I decided to keep it and sell it later or have "Scum Ball" sell it for me at his dealership in LA. Anyway, after looking at it in the driveway for two weeks I called the local Chrysler Dealer and asked what he would pay for it. He offered me $2,000 more for it than the Chevy Dealer so off we went to sell it to him. My wife drove the Sebring and I followed her to the dealership in our Jeep Grand Cherokee, the "airport car." (It had 109,000 miles, looked like brand new, but I was sure that it would die any minute so it was relegated to service as a airport car.) When I arrived at the dealership, my wife was outside waving her hands and trying to get my attention. She told me to go on home and she would take care of the sale of the Sebring. I thought that this was strange behavior and, much to her chagrin, I parked and wondered into the dealership. She had seen the Prowler and knew that this would be and "expensive" trip to the Chrysler Dealership. I saw the 2001 Silver Prowler and told the dealer I would give him the Sebring, the Jeep and a check if we could agree on the price. Several hours later, we agreed and I bought the last car that had been on my short list. It now has 450 miles on it now and honestly, my wife likes it more than me! That's a surprise as she is a "died in the wool" Corvette fan and actually owns two right now. (a 1998 convertible and a 1986.) Even though the Prowler doesn't have the performance of the Corvette, she likes the uniqueness of the car in concert with the mystic. In short, we made room for one more unusual addition to the automotive fleet. We had no real burning desire to buy one but, it's fun to own. Scot ------------------ |

Bob and I have been around the Prowler concept vehicle since it was a gleam in Chrysler's eye!!! It was love at first sight for me. When the first concept Prowler was finally built, it just re-confirmed my mission to have one! Working with it with Bob's Chrysler events and my company's Prowler roadshow just made me crazy until my wonderful husband surprised me with one as a gift for our 32nd wedding anniversary. Not sure who I was in love with more...him or the Black Cat!! LOL! You know what they say....true love never dies!! (Bob and the cat!) ------------------ |
