I know most of us are extremley particular when it comes to parking our cars.

There are some places that I will not allow a valet to park my car, but they gladly make room right out front for me. There are other places where I know the valets and will let them park my car.

My question is what does everyone consider is a fair tip for these guys?

Hey Mike- I usually tip $10 if I park the cat in a good location to be watched. I have tipped as much as $20, but that was an exceptionally busy restaraunt and they let me park accross 2 spaces and keep my key! Is this about right?

Mike, when I run into a Valet only situation which occurs often at hotels etc, I give the guy $10 when I first see him--to ride with him to the valet only parking area. And of course I jump out to get him "close " to the wall after explaining to him on the way down the ramp, about the long nose. Then another $10 when he gets the car for you and by that time you know each other.

I have a two price system, $20 for the Prowler and $5 when it's a rental car.

While going through college I worked for a valet company, $20 should get you the best spot.

If the guy is a butthole I make them paid at least $1.50 of the valet charge.

Actually I am a huge fan of valet, Kat being noticed 5 bucks max, Indian Casino then it is $3.00, standard a buck.

$10, $20, or more? Just to park the car a few feet from the entrance? I don't know about you guys but, I work too hard for my money to just give it away for basically nothing. You could tip them $100 and I guarantee you, they will not watch your car any more then the next. (I had a boatload of friends in college that would valet, trust me)

I definitely DON'T tip up front (no way to get it back if the screw with your car) and usually tip $2 to $3 bucks.

Most places have signs for the valets that say how much it is. Can't think of anyplace around here that charges more then that.

I've also never had any valet be upset at our tip or mess with our cars.

Valet?? I don't use them. I find a place to park elsewhere and maybe walk a little. Then again - I have my little blue placard to help me park
