Hey All,

I have been checking around looking for a good weekend and good rate for a Hotel in Key West. So far I have not found any good rates even has a group. Since we all live in FL I asked the hotels to pick a weekend that was cheapiest (group rate) for any weekend from June to Sept. Maybe Someone out there can help me out?

The Plan would be to meet in Florida City on Saturday Morning and drive to Key West. Spend the night and In the Morning of Sunday drive back.

Thanks,

Hey Brian.....
I know up here in Orlando, they consider May & Sept. the slow season, and usually give Florida Resident deals on hotels and theme parks.

Based on this info, I would think Sept. (after Labor Day) to be the best chance to get a good rate and availability at a great hotel.

Been a while since I have been in Key West, so pick the hotel you want and talk to the Sales Mgr. for a non-peak season rate.

I won't be attending so I probably shouldn't butt in. We stayed in Key Largo and liked it so much we cancelled our reservations at Key West the following night and returned to Key Largo. The price was MUCH cheaper and it was a nice hotel but I don't remember the name of it. I forget how far it is from Largo to West, but it isn't that far. Just a suggestion from a non participant.

Key Largo is cheaper, but it is about 105 miles away from Key West which is about 2-3 hr drive. that is a bit much for one day driving. I'll try to find something halfway between... maybe the price will be better.?

Try Marathon Island. I think it was about 1 hour away or less to Key West. (We drove it every day for a week).

It's nice, less crowded and the prices were significantly less the Key West.

I stayed at Eaton Lodge my last trip to Key West. Very nice bed and breakfast guest house. Just off Duval Street where all the craziness goes on. There is no decent parking in Old Town Key West so that might be a consideraton too. I have also stayed at some resort on Duck Key, the name escapes me now, much less crowded than Key West.

I want to stay in the hilton just off Duval St. because they have vallet parking with a enclosed parking garage... but the cost is $200+ a night. seems a bit steep for off season.

I stayed in old Key West 2 Spring breaks ago. I stayed in a bed and Breakfast and loved it. It took me 8 hrs to get there! I almost went crazy with all the senile, drugged up, delirious people driving 30 MPH there. That is why it took me 8 hrs from Tampa.

From Florida City (end of FL turpike) to Key West Should take us about 2.5-3.5 hrs. Dink and I made it from Key Largo to Key west is 2 hrs. We made good time even on a Saturday in season. 40-55mph.
