Hi I just noticed that I have a ton of dried water spots inside my headlights, on the clear and mirrored backs. It look terrible. How do you remove the clear fronts to clean this area. I mean it looks terrible!!!!!!!! Sasy ------------------ |

Sassy, Might need to have them replace them. Have your service manager look at it. I don't think I have spots in mine and it is 3 years old ------------------ |

Thank you It seems that some moisture was inside the lens and dried. I hope if they do replace them, the color matched good. It's really a shame you spend this kind of money for this car and you have this happen. Sasy ------------------ |

Sasy, everyone on this forum probably experienced their share of the Kat's shortcomings.....but that is meaningless compared to what this automobile does for your heart and soul. In other words, the car makes you FEEL GOOD! |

The dealer should replace the headlamp assembly under warranty. They already come pre painted from DC. Should you still see moisture in them after replacement, remove the 2 dime size rubber plugs on the top of the units temporarily to allow air to dry them. This happened to mines after I washed the car and it cured the condensation in about 30 minutes. Make sure your reinstall the plugs before you drive to keep dirt out. |

I got the same spots on my lights. Was going to try to remove bulb assembly to clean them myself but I think Ill take it to the dealer first to see what he says. ------------------ |

The plugs cover the adjustment screws, you can locate them in your manual. Or, if you don't have one, they are right on top of the light assembly.

Thanks John I thought I could take them out and and clean them from the back (2) holes. Can you get to the inside. I think if they are replaced they will get to be the same as these after a while. ------------------ |

I've had my light assemblies off the car, and it is actually a two-piece unit sandwiched together. I was just about to remove the screws attaching them, but as I looked closer I saw a sealant running around the seam. I suspect this is a type of glue also so I stopped, I bet the glue is stronger than the plastic itself. That was my next step,as you suggested Sassy, is to try long Q tips going in from the bulb openings. I'd really like to believe DC would warrantee this problem, but I am not encouraged about it. And I also believe with Sassy that it will reoccur. ------------------ |

I will have it out with the service manager tomorrow. When I say they look bad, they look bad. I asked a friend that told me that there is a spray cleaner with a long tube that cleans glass and plastic without wiping. They use it on crystal chandeliers. He said to spay the inside and let the cleaner run out and let try.. he said crystal clear results. I will try this next weekend. Sasy ------------------ |

hey now, the problem with the headlight is that the gasket is a little thin and does not seal the top very well. I shimed mine and it fixed it but the spots on the reflector had to go so the dealer replaced the whole unit under warranty. Lots have had this problem and its just great that the dealer will fix at no cost............ |
