Sable, one of the LA guys, has put one in... I think I would mount a flop over one on top of the dash if it was my Kat. ------------------ |

I guess my first question would be......why? If I wanted to watch tv or a movie, I'd stay home!! When I am out prowlin' in the cat, that's all I want to do!! ------------------ |

A rear camera is a neat idea, maybe mount under plate or bumper. Hi CJ, everyone likes different things, many around here like their go-fast goodies etc. I like cool, new, and different gadgets and electronics. That's why I dig my prowler also, because its different and unique. If I could mount a satellite dish to the car I would do it just because I could. (Actually, I think it would look too funny!) ------------------ |

Andy, I was considering doing the same thing mainly for Cruise-In's and shows. When can I see it and get all of the gory details? ------------------ |

Ken, I just did those pix to see what it would look like. I plan to do it over the next few weeks. That unit is a Kenwood, has touchscreen controls, remote control, and goes in and out on it's own. However you need to flip it up and down manually. I'll keep you posted. Andy ------------------ This message has been edited by Andy R on 04-21-2001 at 02:33 PM |

You are right, Andy.....to each his own!! I wasn't knocking it.......I'm just too busy driving my cat to worry about anything else. And I know.......it's a guy thing.......electronics, gadgets and such.......just because it's there and just because you can!!! What was I thinking? |

Andy, I already have that new Kenwood unit installed. It is very cool and people always are a little taken back by it. But like someone else said I just did it for the "cool" factor. Wish the TV got better reception though. ------------------ |

Hey Bob, maybe we could figure out how to hook up a LONG cable line for better reception? Do you have any pix of the unit or install etc. I'm sure we (I) would love to see!! ------------------ |

Andy......do you have a Prowler trailer? You could always mount a tv/vhs/dvd in the trailer and install the satellite dish on the trailer tongue! You could watch movies or vhs tapes of Woodward Dream Cruise, etc. while you are sitting around at the car shows/cruises! You guys are slowing down....TV with DVD? Now that you have the screen, why not add navigation and while you're at it, the new small remote cameras would allow you to discreetly zoom in on all of the hot babes checking out you and the car at the car shows. Bob has been using these items for the three years on some of the toys he's been involved in. This message has been edited by CJ on 04-22-2001 at 08:00 AM |

RPL, can you get us in touch with the manufaturer of these wonderful gadgets - or is this a top secret "future" product of DC? CJ, - NOW look at what you started! ------------------ |

Chris......go for it!!!! JohnS......No big secret......Alpine Electronics....Bob has been using them to replace rear view mirrors on show cars. They also have a very nice DVD-based navigation system with selectable male or female voice command. Just to clarify.......Bob does NOT have any of these on his personal cars........dead meat! Oh, and Ohio SilverCat.....just watch out where you plug in!! This message has been edited by CJ on 04-22-2001 at 03:06 PM |

Ohio Silvercat, Am I going to have to drive around with you like that in the passenger seat. Better yet I'll place you in the trailer. Andy, it really looks just like those pictures you placed on your cat. I don't have any pictures of the install though. It was done by a professional. I need to update my scrap book. I just removed the front bumpers. Waiting for the turn signal kit. When I update photos I'll be sure to palce a few of the unit in. ------------------ |

I think Rich (OHsilvercat) has solved all problems. Not only can he pick up any satellite or HD broadcast with his hi tech antenna system, but would attract all hot babes with that sleek hipster modern bebopin' techno look headgear. And last but not least, he could be the ultimate value priced navigation system sitting next to you with yellow pages in hand and a map from any Mobil gas station. (I'm still laughing at the picture of Rich in his garage! ) CJ, there is an anonymous help group for people who are "involved in" spy cameras and hot babes. (we meet twice a week ) ------------------ |
