Sad story. Not just because of the vehicles involved but the whole incident. We hear about these type of collisions all too often.

In my other cars I never wear my seat belt. I always wear my seat belt in the Prowler.

Sympathies to all families involved in this tragedy.

Have ALWAYS worn a seat belt, ALWAYS will. It and the airbag saved my life in car crash several years ago. Seat belt and airbag saved my son's life in a crash he was involved in stationed in England. A flatbed truck broadsided him in his Neon. Spun him around, hit the rear end of his car and shoved him (with the truck) head on into a tree. He walked away with bruises, sore shoulder and cuts from every piece of glass in the car breaking. Totaled his Neon. He is convinced the belt and bag saved his life.......

due to our laws here... I always wear my seat belt. I doubt that a flipped Prowler and a seat belt would have saved their lives though. There is nothing to keep the car from landing on your head. I really feel for these people...it is even more sad this this horrible incident involved a Kat!

Very sad. We wear our seat belts all the time. No exceptions. We taught our 6 children to do the same. Our Grandchildren are already learning at an early age.

Damn, sorry to hear about this accident.
Prayers for all involved.

Does anyone know if this is the first traffic death of a prowler owner while in his Kat?

I appreciate being informed but so very sorry that we lost a Florida Cat owner and others to this tragic event. Everyone should always wear seat belts in the Cat or any vehicle... it might have made a difference! Jay

That story is absolutely sobering!

Ah yes, seat belts. I am living proof that they work...
#1 broadsided in an intersection, spun 320 degrees and still ticking. Blacked out in the spin but in perfect shape otherwise.
#2 Chain reaction collision in Philly in '75. The belt hurt my shoulder but at least I didn't need to dig my face out of the steering wheel.

Real TV this week showed a getaway Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 3 robbers, being boxed in by 3 state troopers. Trooper taps the guy once...nothing. On the second tap, he sends the Cherokee into the curb which flips it within a nanosecond. 2 of the 3 "bad" guys are literally tossed out of the tumbling Jeep. These humans flying out of this Jeep looked like crash dummies coming out of a blender. What a sight!

Improve your odds, my friends, never leave your driveway without a belt. Be around to sign the insurance papers when they tow your wreck away. There's always another Prowler to be had.

There isn't another you available.
