Hey Guys, IT REALLY worked!!!!!! I pumped my tires up to 50 PSI turned on the car, turned it off and the deflatted the tires to the correct air pressure. (30 psi front and 32 psi rear). I drove the car about 10 miles and the light never came on! Wow it only cost me $0.50 to pumps the tires up at the gas station. So that is how you recalibrate your tire pressure sensor. I could have went to the dealer and it would have cost me a lot more. Thanks Joe for the tip. ------------------ |

Joe and Brian.......thanks!! I have had this happen to me about 3 times. The light never stayed on for any length of time, but it did worry me. We made sure the correct air pressure was in the tires, but didn't perform the exercise that you did. Have printed this off and will save it if it ever happens again. Thanks again for the tip.....CJ ------------------ This message has been edited by CJ on 04-19-2001 at 08:02 AM |

Thanks Joe and Brian for the tip. I am going to try it tonight on mine. Looks like I will have to put the warning light bulb back in. ------------------ Bill Gallagher |

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I have had this problem for 34,000 miles and the dealer never could "fix" it. I'm headed out to the garage to fire up the air pump now..... Thanks again for sharing this with us all. It's good to be part of the Family, Yes? ------------------ |

Has anyone done a fix this way and had it hold for a period of time?? I wonder what Chrysler thinks because they have spent tens of thousands (or more) in tech warranty time trying to make these fixes--this is a fairly widespread problem. And there are a number of different causes or fixes for this, not just one. Sometimes the tech spends quite a bit of time attacking this from various scenarios before he hits on the solution. And sometimes he just plain strikes out. Not to mention tens of thousands of dollars in customer time, sometimes involving goodyear tire stores too. It's a wonderful solution if it works and holds, but it's so easy you would almost think it to be in the snake oil catagory. |
