Todd Dr. Ru did some very special pin stripes on my car, the best I have seen yet. He did the reverse on the car, black on silver with the fenders front and back and he signed it too. He did my vette too a few years back. I will post a scrapbook very very soon. PS Todd, did you get one of the model cars that is dedicated to the Black Tie. I did, is is super and under a clear Lucite box with a mirror. ------------------ |

I too will be curious about your chrome person ... first, 3 weeks is pretty darn quick. second, you didn't mention what they are charging you. And third, what is their process for chroming it? I certainly hope you aren't using a vaccume plating process ... it just won't hold up. Keep us posted .. and oh, after seeing your banner (which looks great, by the way) ... You should change your ID name to HOTmama ... wow ! ------------------ |

Ray Don't know the final cost yet and this is a two step/person process. Yes, this is a vacuum chrome process but here is the trick. It is sealed with a 3 coats of a 2 part clear epoxy sealer. Marine quality. It will be stronger than the original paint or any other exterior surface on your car. Also the person that does the process is good very good. Not a thin coating either. I saw the work and it is super shiny in and out. Sasy ------------------ |

Looking good. Black Ties and Woodwards always seemed odd looking to me. Guess I'm not use to seeing two tone new cars. But that detail work really ties everything together,, very nice... I'd be interested to see how the chrome looks inside the fins when done. That was my biggest beef with the people from Fla. ------------------ This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 04-14-2001 at 11:44 PM |

WOW< how cool is that to have the Dr do custom strip work on your Black Tie!! John... the two tones get far more attention then other color's with the possible exception of the Orange. Looking good sassy!!!!! ------------------ |

Todd, no question the two tones draw attention to a already attention grabbing car. I guess for me it was a double take to see how they blend. JOMO. Besides the Black Tie already has one of my favorite colors, .
My grill looks great now but it was after I spent a couple of hundred extra for detail paint on the rear, maybe I'm too picky but don't think so. Anyway not to make a long reply longer, a person who takes pride in their work would be a welcome addition. Much luck SasyMoma. |

actually, most products were made or, in the case of chrome, far better way back when, then today... You think the 50's chrome was good... you should see the stuff from the 30's! Chrome is a combination of someone taking the time and pride to actually polish things right in detail... and someone having access to the right chemical compounds that are used in plating, most of which are not illegal and the replacement products often do not work as well. This is why todays chrome is not as good as before. ------------------ |
