I am looking for another Prowler. I saw this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=574304980&r=0&t=0 on eBay. It says that this car does not have CA emissions and "No California Bidders" please. This isn't really the case is it. If so, How does everyone else go about buying out of state and registering in CA? ------------------ |

Rich- Since early 1998 with the 99 Prowlers they became certified as a 50 state vehicle meeting CA, NY, and MA emission standards which meant they could be brought in to those States without issue. I don't think any changes were made except with the paperwork. Not sure about the 1997 model year. Maybe CJ can explain the details. ------------------ This message has been edited by CA Phil on 04-05-2001 at 04:06 PM |

Rich, All 2000 Prowlers are 50 state vehicles that I am aware of.

We've got the VIN# from the ebay site and will check the emissions certification just to be sure and will let you know tomorrow. For the 1997 model year, there was a separate CA certification for emissions. Over the last couple of years, emission requirements have changed as has DC's policy regarding compliance. DC has moved to 50 state certification to make it easier to allocate the vehicles to dealers and allow dealers to sell into virtually any market. ------------------ |
