I'm having gears installed in my Cat. Last week my local CP dealer said they are busy but could install the gears in a few days. I said fine-just let me know when. THE DEALER CALLS ME at 3:30 pm Tuesday 4/3 and lets me know they can do the work on 4/4. He said to bring the car in at 9:00 am Wednesday. I show up on time and see the service rep who called me. He tells me the tech who was going to do the work on my Cat was at school and that they couldn't do the work today. He said he was sorry. I didn't rant and rave (not my style) but I thought to myself ...he called me to bring in the car, I take a day off work, and I hear -I'm sorry??????. Friggin' bs. Incompetence. When I get that customer survey call after the work is done I will rip that dealership to shreds. The sales area is incompetent also-I didn't buy my Cat from this dealer. Any suggestions? ------------------ This message has been edited by NightProwler on 04-05-2001 at 10:22 AM |

I would have an independent do it , so you have no warranty issues. JOMO ------------------ |

I would probably not go to a dealer unless I had too. OMO these are not that hard to put in. ------------------ |

After helping my tech with the install, I wondered why I took it to my dealer, very easy. Especially without a Carlini FULL rear roll pan. |

I just called an independent. They said bring it on in for a look. Screw the dealership is what I say. Thanks for the advice on the independent and warranty issue. And one more thing...I spoke with the trans guy at the independent who said he'd do it at no profit so he can have the privilege to say he worked on a Prowler! Almost made my jaw drop. The local dealer wanted $498 to install the gear. This message has been edited by NightProwler on 04-05-2001 at 10:19 AM |

I had the same thing happen to me at the dealer. I made an appointment, took a day off etc. I got there, waited in the lobby for 2 hourse, THEN was told that the tech wasn't going to come in that day because he just decided not to. Not to mention that I was there that time because the previous time I had the cat in, they didn't get to it! Like you, I also didn't buy the car from that dealer. |
