After weeks of waiting, my MOPAR Performance Exhaust System arrived. I opened the box and the system looked great. After about 30 minutes I had the original system off and was ready for the install. The muffler was easy, but I had to removed the reinforcement arms mounted below the transmission that attached to the side of the car in front of the rear wheels--didn't have to do this to get them off. Then the bad news, the driver's side tailpipe was missing the muffler clamp that should have been spot welded in place. The the even worse news--I can't find a stainless steel exhaust clamp anywhere. The dealer isn't sure on how to get a replacement either. Looks like I'll be ordering one this week. Here's a comparision photo:

Still waiting for the clamp, hopefully it will arrive before Friday. As for cost, you should be able to get them for around $750. Installation is pretty easy. Had I had all the parts I would have had it on in less than 2 hours using just drive on garage ramps.

Got my Mopar Exhaust installed yesterday.
My Mopar Exhaust

Typical exhaust installation - the hassle was with getting the old system off.

I really like the appearance of this system. The tips are definitely bold and flashy. Of course the Cat is etched onto the tips.
The sound is a very pleasant one to my impaired ears. Quiet in the car and yet has a nice growl when you get on the throttle. I would say sound is going to be very much like the first Borla systems. Unfortunately I haven't driven with another Prowler since I left Sedona, AZ in November and can hardly remember hearing the other Borla system. But cruising season is approaching and I'll get to compare notes with friends new and old soon.

I installed the MOPAR exhaust and am very pleased with the look and sound. Using a car lift the system was installed in just over an hour. The car idles with a nice low throaty sound and really sounds off when you step on it.

Nothing against MOPAR Performance, but I can not imagine that the original Borla system (which I have one of the first to be installed successfully on a cat prior to the CAAP I trip ) or any current Borla system will sound ANY differently than the MOPAR branded product. Only difference is in the tail pipe section and the chrome ends and Kat versus the carbon fiber ends and Borla wording. The actual muffler undoubtedly is the exact same. And, given this similarity, as I mentioned in a different thread ... the Borla system can be had direct for just over $500. when mentioning the "Internet Special" when you call Borla. Just food for thought for those that want the sound, not picky about the look, and want a few bucks still left in their pockets!

Victor -
I redid my front end with the help of Chris Wade(CNote6). Polished A-arms and chromed everything else. Carlini Stainless brake lines.

The lift is a Mohawk HR-6 scissors lift. I wanted a lift that would allow me to work around the car and particularly allow me to remove wheels to clean them and now my newly redone front suspension. Got tired of jacking up each corner of the car to get the wheels off to clean. Biggest problem for me was finding a unit that would fit my modest garage. This unit I can drive over (only about 1" clearance, but it makes it) and lifts straight up. While I've only had it for week now, it seems that it is going to meet my needs. Mohawk

Wasn't hard on my part.
Have to talk to CNote6 to get the specifics on polishing.
Only hassle for me was taking apart, reassembling and getting front end aligned. Like any other project it's a matter of geting started and then waiting to get everything back to finish the job.

Drop me a line and we can talk specifics.

Is the Kat logo on both sides of each tip or just one side? It is engraved? Or just something stuck on?
