that the windows were deep tinted? I love the car and attention it gets, but sometimes get the "fishbowl" feeling. Does it sound silly when I say I bought the car for myself and not to attract everybody's attention? I always liked different and unique vehicles, but thought of them as an extension of myself, not "look at what I have". ------------------ |

Prowler Ownership contains equal parts of "look what I have", "extension of ones personality" (and better not be an introvert!) and "I Love This Car" syndroms. I find that the way the seat is back, or that when tho top is up, it gives that same "privacy" as the blonde had in American Graffiti when glimpsingout from around her "hiding spot". With the top down ... forget it ... FISH BOWL. Prowl on man ------------------ |

butchee, I enjoy driving with the top up because of the issue you cite. I love driving with the top down too even more so now that I have the Carlini chrome head rest covers which you really can't see with the top up. Right now I need a little rise in the mercury. I bought the Cat because I wanted a convertible that was a rare car. It was important for me to be the original owner with all the original paperwork, etc. I intend to pass it down in the family in 40 years God willing. There are a lot of nice convertibles out there but only the Prowler truly special for under $250,000. The rest are just nice-thats about it. As crazy as this sounds it never crossed my mind that I want to buy a Prowler because I thought others would think it is cool. Never even crossed my mind. btw, GEARS ARRIVE TODAY! Just in time for the spring fling. ------------------ |

I, however, am short enough that people can see me all the time. I thought I would be too short to drive the car, but with the seat adjusted (no comments please) it is fine. I agree with you Butchee, I wanted the car just because I loved it and it was me!!! When I am out driving, I don't pay that much attention to whether people are looking or not, I am just enjoying it. I worry about people's reactions sometimes. Driving down the street one night, I was stopped at a light and I could see a car coming down the left turn lane. It was two guys in I would say their 20's. The passenger was leaning so far out the window as they went by so he could see it, he almost fell out!! I have to laugh at some of the reactions, and I am glad that the car makes everyone smile......it sure makes me smile!!! |

If you want to get noticed go on Raddison cruise and be the only male in a hot tub with Vannah White and that brunette female from Friends. Life is good. ------------------ |

Mine are tinted dark (5%). I am getting ready to have another layer of 5% added over top of that and I am considering having the windshield tinted (35%) also (people are always trying to look in when the side windows are up). It really is nice when you are sitting at a light with the windows down and you get someone next to you staring blatently to have the option of putting your window up to atleast get some privacy. I think it is nice that Gary can get in touch with his feminine side and I don't think you guys ought to make fun of him. Please don't sing, "I feel Pretty" from the West Side Story, though. |

Good point Bill G. I got the car for me, and the rarity of the car. I do enjoy the looks from other drivers, but you make a good point, when you get some obnoxious passenger starring next to you at the traffic light, sure would be nice to have dark tinted windows. |

I bought the car for me. I've been collecting Mopars for more than 30 years, so I am used to being the "odd ball" at cruises. Hmmm, maybe its not because of the cars I buy? Hey Al, I just wanted to tell you that I think Tony Stewart was out of line when he spun Jeffey in the pits. Geez, that's twice I've agreed with you! ------------------ |

I would have like to have seen the look on Gibbs's face when he pulled that stunt. Glad no-one in the pits got wacked. Stewart needs to see Gary's shrink! ------------------ |

Got the car cause I loved it, I did have the windows tinted before ever taking it home. Good & Bad, bad cause at cruise in when the windows are up everyone wants to look in and they cannot, so finger/hand prints all over the windows. Good sometimes you just want to be left alone when driving, and they still look just cannot see in. When I first got it I took step daughter for a ride, she wanted to know how the other drivers could turn left and still be looking right to see the car. ------------------ |

Y'know, when I first met Gary I was wondering who he reminded me of...I thought and I thought and all of a sudden reading the posts...it was Susan Sommers...gosh dang..and I was so close to him in Texas... I'm now driving my 2nd Cat..although I traded the first for the second one..2000 Silver (11/99-2/01) and now a 2001 Mulholland...I love every day that I drive it or just look at it in the garage..it sits next to a '99 Corvette Conv. but my eyes invariably look at the Prowler..I am grateful everyday that I own one of the most exciting cars ever built...and Jay....thanks for sharing your same thoughts with me in Texas and for all of your guidance... See you all again someday soon.. ------------------ |

Part of the reason I bought the Prowler was to get looks. The only disconcerting part, was that it was the car people were looking at and not me, that was a change. ------------------ |
