I just read the following comparison review on edmunds.com and thought some of you might find it interesting. http://www.edmunds.com/roadtests/comparisontests/2000roadstercomparisontest/4446 5/page001.html After owning both, and which one I kept, I know which one gets my vote.

Mr. Fat Man, I have read many of your postings and, I remain confused by your inflated opinion of your personal Prowler. I own a 2001 Prowler, a 1993 Allante (Northstar) a 1981 Delorean, 1979 MGB and a 1975 MGB. My wife owns two Corvettes, a 1986 and a 1998. While I am not a Corvette fan, I won't even drive my wife's, there is no comparison between the Corvette and the Prowler. If you blew the doors off of a "vette" with your Prowler on I-95 you must have found one that was either anemic, sick or was cruising, not racing. There is no measurable parameter in which a Corvette will under perform a Prowler. You many judge them in a straight line, a curve, from 0-60 or the quarter mile and the results remain the same. I would suggest that you get in touch with reality. I am not sure, but I think that my 93 Allante would take the Prowler in most all categories other than looks and price. Maybe, the Prowler would take the Delorean and the MG's but for the price difference it should. Don't delude yourself. Keep your $500, $1,000 or "pink slip," all of which you stated that you were willing to bet for the next race, and use the money to make payments on something really fast if that is your primary need. Prowlers are made to enjoy and to meet people and that is more than sufficient as a selling point. Performance is important and the Prowler is respectable, but certainly not a sterling example of speed and performance. You talk too much about bets and I don't think that you realize that it sounds like a little boy consumed with "my dog is better than your dog syndrome." You berate many of the other owners in your postings. Perhaps you should examine your motivation and objectives and take a softer stance. Mr. Fat Man, you are too concerned with speed, bets, and fantasy. All are the sign of a creative mind, but be careful because you appear to be a fanatic and that is dangerous. Enjoy your car and remember speed, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. Maybe you should also learn to admire and respect some of the other owners and in that way, you will be recognized as a "cool cat owner" instead of just plain "catty." Hey now, thanks for the psycho annalists, I needed that. The twelve step program for my drag racing needs is not working.....save me from myself Scot!!!.......why don't you bring one of your wife's slow corvette's and the pink slip, what ever that is(title?), and if you want to put it up for a race, and we will race for it in the 1/4 mile and you then can make a informed judgement of how fast my car is. The prowler is a 40k car. You want to drive around in a fast looking car that is slow, that's your choice. I'm in the process of making my prowler the fastest in the world........I guess that just bothers some people...........You go ahead and use your cars for whatever you want and please don't worry about what I do with mine.............Its your thing.........do what you want to do.........I can't tell you.....who to sock it to.......Thanks for trying to help me but I'm too far gone........though I haven't tried shock treatments in awhile........ This indeed is an interesting article. As a Prowler owner, I am inclined to agree with the assessment of their conclusion. However, I did some research prior to making my buying decision and the uniqueness of the Prowler was the major factor in my ownership choice. I was fully aware of the benefits of other roadsters/convertibles (both foreign and domestic). Despite the Prowler's shortcomings, it will always have a reserve space in my garage. Who among the faithful haven't questioned the craftsmanship of our unique automobile or dreaded the thought of taking it in for the first service issue or complained to yourself about the bounciness on a slightly rough road? That is why we are FAITHFUL and dedicated to our wonderful cars! Many of us have the ability to own any car we want -- present company excluded -- but we own Prowlers by choice not be force. America is wonderful place, isn't it? Best of all you can always buy, sell or trade. Meanwhile, let me jump in my Prowler cruise the strip here in Vegas and get some unconditional admiration and praise! |

You know superdan, opnion are like a-holes, everyone gots one and they all stink. Like I told you before, you opnion has no meaning to me. You just a mouth in here and have stated you will never race with us so it seems to me you want to just try to get on my last good nerve, it won't work. Your prowler, if you really have one, is just to slow for the fatman, better keep racing your nova............I'm glad to see that there are some "real racers" on this site, crybaby Dan not incluced........even though he is a racer too, just not a real one in my book. uh...yea..o.K. ..but coming into Fort Worth on Saturday morning in the #3 slot of a convoy of about twenty prowlers, looking up ahead there was a lone shiny new bright yellow C-5 vet in the center lane of IH-35 going just over the speed limit.I thought to my self this guy is in the wrong place at the right time and he was soon to be assaulted by a pride of nomad cats. the black cat in the front picked up the pace an we caught up to him rapidly .as the line of prowlers started passing him on the right, he had both hands up on the wheel with his eyes glued straight over the top of his steering wheel.after about the fifth or sixth prowler to pass him on the left here comes one on the right doing about 85 mph with the cut-away exhaust going through straight pipes making one loud roar, after that I 'm sure how the rest of this assault played out . I think he might have finally made eye contact with one of our cats still believing his C-5 was the best as indicated by the number of fingers he was holding up. I'm sure by the time his exit came up he was happy to be getting out of where he had just bene...... ------------------ |

FatManInTheBathTub(Jerry), I have been corrected on this and need to admit when I'm in error. The Dan your referring to was not me but some other Dan. I'm chilling out now..... I need to breath into a paper bag and have some cold ice tea. I apologize for the offense Jerry ... My BAD!!! I need to go back to being an introvert. This extrovert behavior is not for me.
