I know this has been a topic in the past, but what luck has everyone had in getting their wheels replaced. Will be going to the dealer this week. The chrome is really flaking/bubbling on 3 out of 4 wheels. Some flaking patches are 3-4" on the inside of the rim while the outside is starting to bubble. I only have 1,700 miles and my Y2K Yellow was produced 4/00.

Had my right rear wheel replaced in Jan. It had one area of bad chrome about the size of a dime. Only problem was finding a place to change tire.

Hey now, it took me several months and 2 sets rejected but I got mine replaced. The problem is the new rims are not polished in between the spokes as well as the originals. I did notice that when the original rims were removed, they had a American Racing sticker on the inside. The new ones didn't. I figured that the new ones were redone rims but I took the car back to see if I could get better ones. The district rep and I looked at the blue prowler in the showroom and it has the same rims as my new ones.....What a bummer, they must of changed suppliers................

Took the Cat in this week and met the new Service Director at my local 5-star dealer. He looked at my wheels and said he would contact Chrysler and get back with me. He couldn't believe how bad my wheels had become in 9mos and 1700 miles. I also told him about the problems other owners have experienced.

Much to my surprise Chrysler is giving me a choice on how to solve the problem. I have a choice of replacing my current wheels (all four) with Chrysler replacements or have my current wheels re-chromed by a local shop.

Based upon past posts with Chrysler replacement wheels and Larry's experience in using a chrome shop, I have chosen to have my current wheels re-chromed locally.

For those of you experiencing wheel problems you may want to print this post in case you need some ammo with your local service department.
