It is true...$150/hr!

I went to Kauai, Hawaii last week, and was getting the prowler drivers' withdraw...
I stopped by an exotic car rental agency on Kauai, saw Vipers, Vettes, and a 1999 Yellow Prowler...

(I remember seeing these cars rent for about $400/day in Orlando, FL)

Asked the rental rates in Hawaii...all the cars: $1000. deposit, and $150/hr.

That explains why I never saw those cars move during my entire 7 day stay.

....and you thought it was expensive to buy these cars, costly to rent them too

Joe,
We vacationed at St Pete's beach during the x-mas holidays. They had a black Prowler at Avis fot $200.00 a day, $3000.00 deposit. Only catch was----Only allowed 75 miles! That was a no deal for me. I want to drive it not look at it.

I really wonder if they really want to rent the cars...I think it draws a lot of attention to their business for lower-end rentals. (This place had about 10 mopeds in the back of the building to rent)

or

The business is just a money laundering front, or tax loss for someone.

I forgot to mention it was a 2hr minumum rental...$300./2 hrs, they never mentioned mileage charge either, but, then again, I never went so far as to get to the rental agreement paperwork.

Glad I have a prowler at home to drive.

Oh...the thing that broke my heart was that someone had screwed in the front license plate to the grill.

Was going to take a picture to share with everyone of how not to treat the prowler, but I could not bear to even take the picture.

This car had been abused.....had scuff marks on both sides of car, and center cap was off the right rear wheel.

Look at this site I found, if one of us lives close to it, I'd check it out to see what is going on. I thought that the price was better that $150/hr.
