The tanks were changed for 2000 model year to add the onboard vapor recovery system. The tank was revised on the top side to add a vapor dome and at the same time, it was modified for more fuel capacity. If you look at the 2000 model year trunk floor pan, you can see an area where the floor is pushed up in the center of the trunk. This gave it the additional fuel capacity and "usable" fuel increased from 11.5 to 12 gallons. |

Great info, CJ! However, I will keep my somewhat "flatter" trunk floor on my '99 in favor of .5 gallon increse in capacity. Heck, with a darned hump there, how WOULD one fit a case of beer back there with the top down? Perhaps this could be a new POA Weekly poll -- how many cans of beer (full, 12oz.) can one fit in a Prowler trunk with the top folded down? ------------------ |

CJ, Thank you for the update on the fuel tank capacity question. I still find it curious that some guys can only get about 10.3 gallons max at fill-ups on empty. Maybe a gallon reserve on the bottom? Thanks for the info! JC ------------------ PROWLEN.... John (-: |
