How many Prowler owners, also own a Harley? If so, what kind? I own a 95th Anniversary Fatboy, that's been tricked out. |

well... my collection has vastly reduced itself in recent years, especially during the purchase of my house (but I have replaced a few with my Prowler's ), Anyhow... while not all Harley's, they have interest... Two 1914 Limited Twin's (out of 5 known to exist), 1955 Harley KHRM Factory desert racer (one of 77 made), 1950 Harley Panhead (10K original miles, factory original paint, I'm the 3rd owner), and lastly, my 1927 Excelsior twin Super Sport, one of roughly 50 made (Super Sports that is) and i'm the original owner on this also, that's original paint too and standing is the original owner's son ( I even have the original bill of sale!) ------------------ |

Nice collection Todd. I've had 12 bikes, 5 of them Hogs.I had a 36 knuck, 57 pan,70 XR750,71 XLCH, and a 76 Low Rider.I rode them stock and chopped. All gone. I'm riding a Japper now. Honestly, I wouldn't go back except to collect them. I enjoy riding and while Harley's are cool. I have gotten over the "Harley Mystique" and just enjoy riding. ------------------ This message has been edited by butchcee on 01-04-2001 at 08:10 AM |

Since we passed a helmet law here in California, I cannot say I ride much at all anymore. Went from riding 50K plus a year to maybe 200-300 miles a year. I mainly collect them now. I also happen to be president and founder of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, and we have a club ride out in Barstow / Victorville this January the 20th... so if any of you California guys are into old motorcycles of any marque... you are most welcome to come out, great bunch of guys in the club. Al, what kind of shape was that '36 in? Where did it end up? Always looking for "new" old motorcycles jd2k... get yourself a bike to go with the Kat ------------------ |

Todd-the 36 was a basket case purchased out of someone's garage for 200 bucks. It was taken in trade for a cesspool pumping job! The serial # was in the teens! Should have kept it but sold it for a grand. Stuuuuupid!!! ------------------ This message has been edited by butchcee on 01-04-2001 at 01:01 PM |

Have had a bunch of bikes from crotch rockets like Triumph T595 to a tricked out Harley Heritage. Got outta bikes for awhile but am looking at a Big Dog Wolf (a REALLY tricked out stretched Harley ride). Would love to get a Borget (sp) but they start at about $45K and go up from there. If you want to see a pile of different rides, try www.staz.com that's probably where I'll be ordering mine from. ------------------ |

I have a '79 Low Rider that I bought new and still ride. It is all stock except for straight pipes and air cleaner. In 1985 I built from scratch a Harley show bike (used a 61 panhead motor and '61 transmission). Put it in 2 bike shows and won 2 trophies. Sold it 5 years ago. Started riding 2 wheelers 40 years ago, the first being a Cushman scooter. Nelson |

Todd, got rid of the Knuck about 10 years ago. Still regret it. I wanted to make a lamp from the engine and should have kept that plan. Saw that in an old Easy Rider and it seemed like a good idea and conversation piece. ------------------ |

Al, that's an extreme ouch, Knuckle cases alone even 10 years ago were $1000, but 1936 cases, if real 1936 cases, were 2-3 K alone, not to mention the rest of the stuff. A real 1936 Knuckle is an easy 40 K machine today. Problem with that is everything, and I mean EVERYTHING on a 1936 is a ONE year only thing, and thus very few are correct and on top of this, that year saw something like 145 changes, and correct means the right 1936 parts per the right 1936 engine number. ------------------ |

Yea, they were real Todd I had no papers so I did a search on the numbers and found out the guy (girl?) went to war and never came back (WW2). Hindsite-20-20 ------------------ |

Hey, How about my GOLDWING No Harley here I started to buy a `73 Superglide (with some custom work) in `77 for 2 grand. Bought new 750 K Honda instead for the same money and 100 less a year on insurance. Was I ever stupid I now own `86 Aspencade with most all the stuff Markland had to offer for it. Love to ride it

depends on what model, what condition, and who is buying it. Any chance of getting some pictures of the bike, both sides top and bottom, and the VIN? ------------------ |

HiHO, If you are thinking of buying a wolf test drive one first! My business partner bought a 2000 wolf with out a test ride and the vibration at 65-80 mph is brutal! the 2001 models have gone to a six speed which stops a lot of the vibrations. Also shop around as Staz is way too high on all their bikes! Search the web for dealers that will deal! Good luck Hal |
