When our family had the old dealership, it was 24%, now the dealers are lucky to 12 to 16% margin. ------------------ |

Todd - True cost varies by geographic area driven by agreed upon dealer advertising association assessments. The dealer discount on Prowler was 12%, recently reduced to 11%. Holdback, fuel, and owner loyalty are added to the discounted price. The dealers do not have much room to work with on the Prowler. |

Hi Todd. I am a Prowler tech in Dallas. We have a 2000 silver on our show room floor. Sticker on it is 43,000 and some change. I was told that if we sell this car for sticker we would make about 1,800.dollars. As you can see there is not much room there. Also these cars are on a floor plan , if it sits to long the dealer will have to start paying interest. When this happens the Cat starts to eat , time to send out and get some cat food. Neal |

There is actually two invoices, the one the dealer shows to his managers is different than the owner and a very few people really get to see. So, if you buy a car at 500 over invoice which is a great deal, the Dealership is making more than that 500. Confused?. |

As a c-p dealer, I would disagree with Gary on that last post. Because the people that usually get the prowlers are 5 star dealers and reputable dealers . Actual invoice is 43080 on one of the orange ones , but I will not sell one for that . Dealer also receives 3 % holdback which is definately money you will never touch because. That is what he uses to pay floorplan, advertising, and what not. I do have 2 orange and silver and one on the way. I will sell the silver for less than the orange and orange will sell for 44500.0 ------------------ |

Lance.D I quess I should have clarified it a little better. The thread topic is dealer cost. Some thought Prowlers, I thought everything else but a Prowler, my mistake. ------------------ |
