A friend suggested Simichrome polish on the
aluminum components that are visible at the
rear of the Kat. Anyone with feedbacks on this product?

I have used it for years and it is one of the best.

I did part of the frame in the rare fender well area and shined up quickly. The Leopard car has frame in that same section blacked out which I didn't like at first and now I think it should be manitory on all of them.

Of course this is JOMO. DSTM

I used the Simichrome for years but more recently switched over to a product called Never-dull which is a cotton wadding impregnated with a polish-works great- available from George Basch co-freeport NY. If your stuck on Simichrome try a polish called Trophy which is an American made clone-1 pound tin at a fraction of the cost-last # I have is 516-5883053.

Flitz is even better then Never Dull when your trying to bring back, or creat a polish, such as you are on the frame rear section. I have used both for years in the Harley business.

Todd-I'm not familiar with Flitz. Is it a paste or an impregnated cotton material?

Ahh, NeverDul, brings back memories of the Navy and polishing brass!

I always thought Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish worked well...though I don't have the experience with a Prowler, I did use it on all the shiny stuff on my Kawasaki ZX-7 and my wife's Zephyr.

Flitz is a paste, I got it originally from my old Chrome shop where I would get my Harley chroming done. Any type of mild to extreme corrosion on any type of chrome or polished surface this is THE stuff to get it out baring using a polishing wheel itself. I'll be happy to dig out purchasing information if anyone wants.

Never heard of the Flitz stuff sounds like some good stuff, BUT

until someone shows me on my own frame I will use semi chrome.

I have several different cotton stuff, it scratches high polished surfaces, several paste and some other non furrous metal polishes.
Mothers and it does not compare to semichrome.

NOTHING I have used gives the high shine with least amount of effort for polishing the aluminum on the frame of the Prowler as semi chrome. I have tried all the different stuff on my car. MORE SEMI CHROME PLEASE

The tongue on my trailer was polished by friend with a wheel and it looked chrome. My frame has a nice shine and to me not chrome but nice. Several people have ask if I chromed the frame, after 2 years and minimal maintenance I was ask this again just yesterday.

My two cents

After three years of keeping my 22.5 Alcoas polished on the rig I have learned alot.
Mainly don't go with the product that gives the "quick shine". According to the Truckers, many polishing compounds can actually yellow the aluminum after repeated use. Most of these guys swear by Mothers, this is what I use and found it to be alot of work but man does it look good when your done!

Scott,

used mothers right next to the semi chrome and could NOT get the same shine.

Your alcoa's where high polished to begin with. The Prowler Frame was not designed to be polished. Just some of us like to improve on what we have. Mothers has some great products but

I still Vote for Semi chrome as the best.

My opinion

Try the Flitz on the frame 1st and THEN something like mothers to really make it shine Flitz works best when your trying to bring out a shine, not reshine the shiney that is barely off luster. I have been in the Harley business for 18 years.... for something like this, nothing has come close.
