I have finally gotten the Smithy mufflers, from the Flathead Fifties era, I bought installed and they are GREAT!!!! I have placed some pictures and before and after sound bites on my Prowler website at www.hondos.net/prowler then select "My Kat". At the bottom of the pictures is a link to the exhaust changes with links to the RealPlayer sound. ------------------ |

Fred, nice comparision of the two systems I have thought about getting some smitty's for the caddy. Think the 500 cu. in. would purr with them? Thanks ------------------ |

Fred, Thanks for giving us the info. I don't know if it's for me, but it SURE is a good price. It's about time someone found an INEXPENSIVE upgrade. Any idea if the muffs are giving you a tiny boost in power, or are they strictly for sound? Thanks again. ------------------ |

JUST JP, I haven't really gotten into it yet but already I have had several people who know the car, come over and ask if I had the engine redone??? This is just from the deeper sound and if I down shift it really has a nice low poping sound... I used to have a 1950 Ford flathead with Smithy's and this sounds just like it. The only thing I have noticed is that the engine revs up a bit quicker, that much I can tell. ------------------ |

By the way, to anyone who may visit my site to hear the exhaust sound bites, I found that if you turn down your bass on your speaker system, the difference is much clearer. ------------------ |

Fred, I'll have to try that bass turn down as you suggested. I'm at work right now, don't have any speakers. I like the idea of people asking what you had done. That's definitely a good sign. I like the idea of sounding like I have a V8, if that's not too optimistic. ------------------ |
