Just heard TV report where Damiler Chrsyler in Germany has replaced Jim Holden as CEO. Checked a couple of websites and story appears to be true. Here's a couple of links to story.

Many questions ...

What happens to Mopars?

What happens to Prowler?

What happens to other concept cars?

Fine with me if they cancel production of the Prowler. When I purchased mine a year ago I was told that the 2000 or 2001 would be the last year, well as we all know now that wasn't true.
I sure would like to own a limited production Prowler! which was one of my initial motivations to purchase her!

Please do not assume that the worst has happened. Until all of the facts are known by the public, do not lay blame where it may not lie. Do not listen to rumors, as we know how rumors tend to start and abound.

These turn of events do not necessarily mean the beginning of the end. It could just as easily mean the beginning of necessary changes.

DC stock has taken a dive the last months and 4th quarter predictions show less then expected promise. If the company was in peril and it was mine, I'd cut the low volume movers-AKA~Prowlers. I've got mine and for purely selfish reasons, wouldn't care if production stopped tomorrow-As long as it didn't effect CJ's job!!!

I'm with Scott on this one. If DC wants to end the Plymouth nameplate - end the production of the car. To keep building the Prowler, with a Chrysler badge on it, is second class. If going to continue to build, leave it as a Plymouth. I can understand the economic decision, but I wouldn't want to own a Cadillac Corvette.

Just my opinion.

There are good AND bad points to continued production of the Kat. For people like me, I plan on keepin' my Kat for LIFE! Therefore, bad point is I don't want to see a bunch of other Kats around, then it would lose its appeal; good point is that the longer they make it, the easier it will be to get parts 50 years from now. As far as value is concerned, I can honestly say that I DON'T want my Kat to increase in value. The more it's worth the more of a target it becomes to pro car thieves. One of the reasons I put off getting my Kat as long as I did, was because I was worried about getting car jacked. Well, picture how it will feel to have people "stare" at your $500,000 Prowler. It would become a HUGE target. I realize that my thoughts are simply an opinion, but I hope at least some will agree.

I bought a new 1996 Chevy Impala. Shortly thereafter Chevy announced that they were ending production. I drove the car for 14 months, sold it and made $2000.00 pure profit on the car. Over and above sales tax etc. It wouldn't bother me if they stopped production. Would only make the value go up. I sold my 98 Vette partly because I saw them on the road all the time. I put 900 miles on my Cat since purchase in Sept. and have never seen another one on the road yet. I like that. My car is a play toy and an investment. I have no plans of selling it but should I get a burr in my butt for something different, a solid or appreciating resale value is important to me.

Hey JP-I should have those problems about how to protect my 500K prowler! Got news for you~at the 100k mark, I'd be on to the next project! Guess this non~commitent thing is why I've stayed single all these years.

Hey Larry I you wondering like I am why Prowlerman can't tell us why he wants Prowlers to be made for ever?
