I’m sorry for being so tardy for posting this note. I had it all typed last week and as I was about to post it, I hit the refresh button instead of the submit button and I lost it all. I was extremely tired and was just plain careless so now I have finally retyped it. I lost a 12 year employee just before the event and have been extremely busy since I’ve been back not only doing my own job but also doing his.
Roger and Bev Freeman; for Trip planning, pre-running and the excellent directions and maps, greasing a few palms, setting up the poker run, hosting the hospitality suite, planning the Gold Road Gold Mine tour and lunch at the Powerhouse among many other things. Gary Cleverley; for handling the 50/50 drawing, taking care of the awards, helping with the nametags, loaning me his radio again and many the other things that he does to help make our events and website more fun for everyone. CJ and Bob Longstreth; supplying the Chrysler Museum bags for the goodies, Black Tie T-shirts from DC, Black Tie CDs, shopping for event gifts at the CAAP store for me and for arranging the prime covered parking area at the Riverside Hotel in Laughlin. Bob, thanks especially for helping Dean get a parking spot at SEMA. David Nazem; for taking charge of the T-Shirt ordering and delivery. Also helping me with the distribution of the shirts among the many other things that he does for us. Al Becker, Larry Salzman and the Arizona Gang for taking charge of Saturday’s Cruise to the Canyon. You Arizona people are a class act. Paul Rosenberg; for supplying the business cards that we made the nametags from and sending some spare nametags. Mike and Judy Krehel; for donating a T-Shirt that everyone attending the event signed to be sent to Patrick. Also for giving us this great website that makes it so easy for all of us to stay in touch and to organize events such as this. Herb Helbig of DC; for allowing Jerry Scholten to join us for this event and shipping the NEW Orange Prowler out for all to see. Jerry and Marcia Scholten; for taking the time to join us and answer the endless questions all during the event. Norb Schroll of TGF Metalcrafters; for donating a Prowler spoiler. Randy and Arlene Hatfield; for donating T-shirts and also for helping set up the Laughlin hospitality suite. Ed Goetz of Real Rods; for donating the Everley Brothers CDs and information packs. Andy and Elaine Knebel; for the fantastic Route 66 windshield stickers. Gary Empfield of Carlini Designs; for donating not just one but two chrome transmission cooler covers and many Carlini T-shirts. Sal Zaino of Zaino Waxes; for the wax kit donation. Jim Hergert; for planning the Sunday tour and also hosting us at his beautiful new home in Sedona. Carol Coverstone of the Route 66 Association; for helping with the goodie bag information and even delivering it to Laughlin for us. Last but in no way the least, I’m sorry if I omitted anyone from this list. Thanks to everyone for attending and for your donations. I enjoyed meeting you all again or for the first time and I look forward to seeing you all again. ------------------ This message has been edited by Larry Lord on 11-16-2000 at 12:38 PM |

Muzzy, Just so you know, the last photo above this post, we were looking out over the Grand Canyon seeing if we all could locate you on the side of the road out of gas. |

Gary C you are such a liar. That was taken while I jumped the Grand Canyon on the Goldwing with Sandy acting as ballast. You shouldn't mislead people like that, your nose will grow. |

Evil Monahan - Yes, that was a great jump. We were all so excited, nobody got any photo footage of the jump, but we could smell your pants after the landing. Nyle said he could of done a 180 turn in mid-air, and landed going backwards. Ed, top that! |
