Planning to get rid of the stock exhaust this weekend, has anyone tried the Flo Pro Twister Racing Muffler? This is how it was explained to me: The Twister Racing Mufflers patented inner design works to create a "Vortex" effect as the extraction of the gases is maximized through a push pull action. The flow rate is far superior to any muffler design, especially straight through designs which still have a bounce back effect as the cold exhaust gases try to escape. The turbine sector of the twister muffler keeps extracting a scavenging even when the gases become cool at the end of the exhaust section. |

OK people, Bryan seems to have a tough question here and I told him he'll get answers to his questions at the POA. Anybody know the answer to this one? Dan Pena where are you? |

Silver-theres a company MBRP (find them on the net) thats making a muffler just for out cat. Should be ready in about 2 weeks. You might give them a call before you jump in with the pro flo settup. This guy makes racing mufflers also-stainless and heavy gauge so no resonance-check it out! |

Silver- I just had another thought. Although scavaging through the muffler is a plus, your still trying to suck through those inefficient headers. While we're relieving back pressure, all we might be gaining is sound, and any increase might be from the reduction of restriction, not system design. I've seen ads saying 10% increase in power from the installation of a system. I've also read about this manufacturer's system on another type of car that was dyno'd and lost HP from the stock system. Dean at Prowler Pro is working on an AFFORDABLE set of headers and possible companion exhaust to go with it. Maybe available around JAN. Of course, all this is my opinion and any criticism is not leveled at anyone in particular. [This message has been edited by butchcee (edited 10-25-2000).] |

I was thinking about Borla? I don't know much about exhaust systems. What do you all have/think! ------------------ |

Folks, Talked with my muffler guy and he told me these mufflers fall into the category of an alternative to Flowmasters all steel construction. He said he will give me more details on the pros and cons later today or tomorrow. As too how do these puppies compare to the OBX with glasspack setup I got on my kitty, can't comment on that. I will post on this thread whatever my muffler guy tells me. At times I just want to have a lab to experiment and make measurements on all these different kits for Prowlers and report my findings. Later... ------------------ |

Butchcee, has MBRP finished the Prowler muffler yet? I volunteered to be their test case, but was told someone has already stepped up to the bat. Their design is suppose to be a 2 into 2 direct replacement with an internal H pipe. |

UPDATE: Martin Barkley, with MBRP, at (888)636-7223, emailed me today and said he is shooting for Feb/March 1, 2000 for the roll out date. He said it's a dual in/dual out incorporating a cross over into the internals of the muffler, which is constructed from stainless steel with a five year warranty. He can be contacted at info@mbrp.com for further questions. ------------------ |

Hey now, I got the Real Rod 2 Duel Exhaust and I have to say that the spiral mufflers sound better than the stock ones but as for the side pipes, I couldn't find the bent broom handle that should of come with the kit to poke out the converters to get the full sound. Still sounds like a 6 and I guess it always will. |
