Gary, That's what you get for buying a Dell!! I have had mine for 1 year and hate it. No matter what happens you have to re format the hard drive. The tech's at Dell are dumb. If you need a tech, ask for a senior tech, the other ones will have you going in circles. Guess what I was doing last night. I went to Norton's tech site and check that virus. I had it. It told me what to look for and what to do. Thanks, |

It's a shame that you all have been having problems with your Dells. I've had mine for over a year and have not had any problems with it. All the computers I purchased for the company I worked for were Dells and no problems with those either! Go figure! |

I just purchased a new Dell 6 months ago and I have not had problem one with it. It is also one of the only companies out their that supplies you with almost all of the documentation you need to work on the computer yourself. Their ratings with the magazines were also excellent. Every company does make a few bad products and I have never found a tech support that was very helpfull. I usually know more than they do about computers. And I am not even a computer nerd. I like my Dell. ------------------ |

Personally, being a computer builder and Hotline Tech for Gateway, I dont like any brand name computers. Not even Dell or Gateway. ESPECIALLY not Hewlett Packard or Packard Bells. IBM's are so-so. BUT... thats just MY opinion.  ------------------ |
