Well it's over and I miss Patrick already. I just wish that more of you out there could have experienced what we did. But first I would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all those that were able to attend. Through heavy rain we drove and as we got to Patrick's house it stopped. It was like God was watching for the arrival time. The Lawton Police Dept. and Comanche County Sheriff's Office were fabulous. Not a bit of problems... for that THANK YOU! We arrived at Patrick's about 12:30pm and made our pass with ALL 13 PROWLERS. I just don't have words to describe the smile on Patrick's face. There were 2 TV stations and the local newspaper already there hiding out. We spent about an hour there showering him with gifts and hand shakes and everyone introduced themselves and even though Patrick was quiet, you could see it in his eyes how much in awe he was. He checked out every car that was there. Oh yea... Nyle, you have competetion in the donut dept. Patrick has mastered the art of donuts in a motorized wheelchair along with wheelies. We cruised up to Mt. Scott in the Wichita Mountains... absolutely breathtaking. We then drove to Meers,Ok. and had a great lunch. We all hung out and talked with ALL the people that showed up. Got pictures with the buffalos and Longhorns that were around there and then cruised back to Patrick's house for good byes. This had to be one of my most fulfilling emotional days of my life. I want to thank the Foster family for allowing us to make Patrick's dream come true. We stayed till almost 6:00 pm and headed out. I have to quote Patrick on one thing. As I was saying good bye to him, hugging him and shaking his hand I asked if he had fun today... his reply " Please don't go, you guys are great, please come back!" Needless to say my heart sunk to my knees. We have definitely made an impression on a fine young man and he has definitely made an impression on us. Again, thanks to all involved.. to CJ, Don, Nowell,
Gary C, Mike K., Jay, Tony and all the rest that I'm to tired to remember THANK YOU for making this day possible.

It looked like you achived the goal of making Patrick's wish come true.

Thank you all that participated for those of us that couldn't.

It must have been a wonderful site for him to see 13 Prowlers driving down his street.

I would also like to send a special thank you to Paul Hines with the BUSH/CHENEY Prowler. Paul traveled the better part of 1,000 miles round trip to make that special boy's dream come true. I'm sure that it was one exciting day not only for Patrick, but his sister Jessica as well. JESSICA- they are a KEWL car to drive aren't they?

No doubt Patrick really, really enjoyed this day. My sincerest THANKS to each and everyone that made Patrick's wish come true... "you meet the nicest people when you own a Prowler". Sincerely, Jay

Subject:
Thanks for Patrick's event from Patrick's family
Body:
Paul,
I am sending this email to you and CJ, it has taken me most of the
evening to write. Please post to both websites:

I apologize for not posting earlier, I had a killer headache this
morning, then went to church this afternoon. Was spending the rest of
the time reviewing tv reports with friends. The phone has been ringing
off the hook from friends and relatives who did not know about this, as
well as those who did.
On behalf of Patrick and our family, please accept this note as
thanks from the innermost recesses of our hearts. Words cannot convey
the joy you all brought to our family, and especially to Patrick. I had
a pretty good idea of how things would work out, but the theory was blown
to pieces by the reality of the cat-a-van coming down the street. I
actually had no idea how thrilled we would be to be part of something so
joyous.
Patrick would like convey the following (my words will be in
parenthesis): I hope to see you again, soon. I had fun Saturday I would
like to get flames painted on my chair as Paul suggested on the
discussion board. When you come back, I'll let all of you see my room
with all of the posters hung up on the wall, which will hopefully be
early this week (the posters hung, although I don't think he would mind
seeing you again early this week). I enjoyed all the colors of the cars
that came to visit and was impressed by the care that you take of your
cars. Thank you for your time and patience (he means how long you were
here) and coming all this way just to see me. Thank you for buying my
lunch, although something just came over me and I didn't feel like eating
at the time (he said the excitement affected him in a digestive sort of
way). Thanks for the posters and all the gifts, somehow I would like to
repay you for all of the gifts, I will try to figure out how, but I just
don't know how yet.
I asked Patrick what he thought when he saw ya'll coming down the
street: "I came outside because my dad wanted me to see some airplanes
flying by. (how fortuitous that the army would have some cargo planes
fly by about two minutes before you arrived, this was about three minutes
after the rain stopped!) I was thinking, 'I want to go back inside and
watch my Monty Python movie'. (I had him doing this to keep him busy
until the surprise came) "Then I heard a siren and I thought somebody
was doing something bad. I saw the KSWO truck (they forgot to park down
the street) and I wondered what was going on. My dad told me that they
must have heard I did my school homework and came to take my picture.
Then I saw a Prowler behind the flashing lights of the police car, then
two Prowlers, then three Prowlers, then four Prowlers and I thought there
may be more than that. I didn't expect there to be thirteen, I lost
count. I thought they might be lost, I didn't know why they came by. I
didn't know they would come back so when they did, I wondered, why are
they blocking the street? They got out and my dad said, 'Come on in,
we've got a pot roast made' (I never know what to say). I knew he was
joking about the pot roast because I didn't smell anything at the time.
Everybody was filming me and taking my picture and I was beginning to
feel important. I remember that my mouth was wide open the whole time and
I made sure I wasn't drooling. I noticed people were getting out and had
bags in their hands. They began putting things in my lap and soon
everything was piling up and one of the drivers offered to hold those for
me (I think its was Jody Rosenberg). The first things I received were
framed pictures of Prowlers, it looked like more than 15-20 in one (he is
referring to the picture taken at TMS). Then t-shirts were unfolded and
handed to me, then Paul began to describe them. Paul then handed me two
fancy Prowler pins that I could use as tie tacks, an inkpen that looked
interesting, like one I had never seen before. Then Paul or David gave
me a gold Prowler watch, it looked nice. I was hoping it would be
digital, but it will do fine (Patrick likes to know the time
instantaneously and to the minute). I also got a some metal Prowlers, a
purple one and a red one. I was wondering what would come next, and J P
Roberts handed me his radio controlled Prowler that he said he had for a
while and wanted to pass it on to me and I could tell that he was
thinking about how I should take care of it. Although he didn't say
that, I could tell that he was going to somehow. Probably something you
don't say to people when you give them something. I was told I could
ride in one, but I thought driving would be better. I liked riding in
one because because I wouldn't have to worry about getting tired from
pushing the pedals. When I was put into George's car, I couldn't see
over the dashboard. So my dad put my wheelchair cushion under me and it
helped a little. I wasn't too satisfied with it but I didn't complain
because I didn't think it would show my gratefullness very good. It was
nice of you to forget about the rain and come down.
That is chapter one, I'll try to get other chapters as they are
related to me. Patrick is very tired and wants to go to bed.
You can see part of the front-page newspaper article at
lawton-constitution.com, including one picture out of three published.
It was very well written by Eileen Murray, a new reporter who graduated
from college in Connecticut around a year or so ago. We were quite
impressed, I'll contact the paper to see if the full text can be
published on the web. In the meantime, I will laminate a copy of the
newspaper to mail to you.
Again, please accept these words as a token of appreciation. I say
'token' because no words can adequately describe the gratitude that we
feel. Thanks also to all who have provided gifts. Patrick will be
sending written thank you cards to you soon.
Most sincerely,
Jim, Donna, Jeremy, Jessica, and especially Patrick Foster

This letter was e-mailed to me this evening from Patrick's dad, Jim Foster.

It was a pleasure to receive this email from Patrick's father. Thanks to all of you for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. I have always believed that we should treat others as we would like to be treated. You all have shown kindness, compassion and generosity to make a little boy's dream come true......one he will remember always.
