I got our Black-Tie the other night (er, morning) at about 2:00 a.m. When they opened the 4 car trailer, way back there I could see my car but there was something white on the trunk. As I was getting closer, my heart sank and I saw that it was a dealer placque. I prayed that it was only a decal (albeit a large one) and not rivetted onto the trunk. As I go closer, I breathed a sigh of relief and saw that it was only a decal but, one with the dealers name in 1" high letters spelling (GARY BARBERRA). Under that (in individual stickers(errrrr) 1/2" high was the word (#1 CHRYSLERLAND). There's more. Next to all of this was a 3" high decal of a teddybear waving. What in God's name were they thinking? Who would want that or leave that on any car much less a Prowler trunk? 20 careful minutes with a heatgun and it was gone..gone..gone. The rear license plate had another advertisement placque and advertisement frame. I took that off and sent it back. The front had the same bolted to the bumper. I took the whole bumper off and sent that back to them (I kept the one off my Silver 2000). What started out as a moving billboard is now a gorgeous car. |

You can always tell them like I used to. If they want to pay for the car or make payments to you, they advertise on it they want. But since they charged over retail for the car... they should not have even put a license plate bracket on it. This I guess would fall under CJ's pet peeves topic. I hope tosee your Black Tie soon. We will be in Victoria later this year, maybe we can hook up. PaulR |

Oh Yea! what are they thinking when they use such a bright white color to put these stickers on. Yes, I know advertising, but you would think they would have a little better taste. Definitely a pet peeve! PaulR [This message has been edited by paulr (edited 10-07-2000).] |

HHS, I'm very sorry to hear about the scare you had. is Gary Barberra in NJ? I was wondering did you call them and tell them how dissatisfied you were with the decals. if you do or did i would love to hear what they said. Takerlight Darryl ------------------ |

Always hated dealer plaques and license plate frames. I always instructed the dealer NOT to put on a plaque and I always took off the license plate frame....... I like Paulr's approach |
