Arrive in Laughlin http://www.riversideresort.com/map/index.htmlanytime on Thursday 11/2 for a day of gambling, shopping, bowling, hiking, water sports, riverboat rides and a museum tour of the 70 cars in Don Laughlin's collection. Check into the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino anytime after 1:00 PM.
A room rate of $25.00 for river view rooms or a $19.00 rate for standard rooms or $35.00 for suites has been arranged. Don't forget to purchase your tickets for the Everly Brothers Concert in the Celebrity Showroom for Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. Ask for seating as close to row #3, table b & c when you reserve.

Friday 11/3 at 8:00 AM we will depart the Riverside Resort and head for the ghost town of Oatman, Arizona. http://www.route66usa.com/arizona.html Bring some goodies to feed the many tame burros that wander freely about the town. The burros were left over from the gold rush days and now are somewhat of a tourist attraction. Plan on taking comfortable shoes and if you wish, we will take a tour of a real working gold mine near Oatman.
Departing Oatman we will pass over the main tunnel of the gold mine which is 265 feet directly beneath Route 66 before following Route 66 to the Kingman area for gas and maybe lunch.
Departing Kingman we will again follow Route 66 making stops at Hackberry, Peach Springs and past Grand Canyon Caverns (maybe a visit?) http://www.desertusa.com/mag99/feb/stories/gccaverns.html into Seligman and on to Ash Fork and then to Williams for dinner at Rod's Steakhouse before traveling on to the Little America Resort in Flagstaff, Arizona for a social evening before retiring for the evening.

Saturday 11/4 will again depart at 8:00 AM, this time from Flagstaff via Highway 89 north, about 100 miles to the Grand Canyon. http://www.nps.gov/grca/ Plan on spending quite some time at the Grand Canyon and having lunch before returning to your car for a trip back to Flagstaff via Highway 180. Dinner at 6:00 PM is planned at Black Bart’s Steakhouse in Flagstaff (just across the street from Little America) for Saturday evening. Black Bart’s has been highly recommended as the servers are mostly students at NSU and perform a musical revue every 30 minutes or so during your dinner. You will offered a choice of 4 different menu items (Prime Rib (12 oz), Broiled Salmon, Broiled Chicken or a 1/2 Rack of BBQ Ribs) the cost of this dinner is $25.00 per person and you must pre-pay. Be sure to give me your choice entrees when you send me your check. After dinner we will cross the street back to the Little America Resort for a relaxed walk through the pine covered grounds or a social hour or two in the lounge.

Sunday 11/5 at 8:00 AM I am planning to return to California by way of Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome and Prescott and I hope to have many of the Arizona Gang follow me for this half day event before they head south on their way back to the Phoenix area. For the people returning to Northern California and Nevada, it would make a nice beginning to your trip to also follow along to Prescott before turning north on Highway 89 to connect with Highway 40 near Williams for your westbound trip home. After departing Prescott I will continue on Highway 89 to Wickenburg and then on via Highway 60 to connect with westbound Highway 10 near Quartzsite.

The Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA Show) is in Las Vegas October 31 - November 3, 2000. http://www.aaiwshow.com/
If you are interested in attending. Please check out my post about the SEMA Show for more information.

There are NASCAR Races in Phoenix at PIR on 11/4 & 11/5 http://www.desertstarclassic.com/schedule.shtml if you are interested in attending. A few people will undoubtedly depart Flagstaff and make a quick run to PIR for the races. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you in touch and help you make the needed arrangements.

Please take some time off to join us for this once in a lifetime event. You can very easily make a long week of car events if you are a hardcore car addict.
I have 30 rooms on hold for Friday night and 30 rooms on hold for Saturday night at the Little America in Flagstaff. More rooms will be added as we need them.

The weather in Flagstaff is pretty cool at this time of year. Be sure to bring some warm clothes and jackets. http://weather.yahoo.com/almanac/Flagstaff_AZ_US_f_10.html

A few quick notes to make sure that everyone understands what is included and not included in this event.....
All lodging, meals, gas, park passes, SEMA Show passes, entries and misc. costs are to be paid by the participants.
The rate of the Little America Resort hotel is $65.00 per night. (including taxes it becomes $71.43) for either 2 queen beds or a king mini suite.
The price of dinner at Black Bart's Steakhouse is $25.00 per person with a choice of 4 entrees (ribs, chicken, prime rib or salmon) including all tips and taxes.
The collectors edition T-shirts will be embroidered with the ProwlerOnline logo that was used for the Woodward Cruise over the left breast area. A small ProwlerOnline.com will be embroidered on the lower right sleave and the wording "Grand Canyon Tour 2000" will be embroidered under the breast logo. This shirt will be a collectors item intended only be sold to those who attend the event on Saturday for the tour to the Grand Canyon. There is no limit on the quantities that you may purchase. This will be a high quality T-shirt with contrasting embroidery. The cost of the shirt will be $20.00 each. Please note that the shirt is embroidered and not silkscreened. A little more money, a lot nicer shirt.
The Dinner Tickets and the T-shirts Must be purchased directly from me.
Please send a check to;
Larry Lord
2101 W. Key St.
Colton, CA 92324-6523

If you are ordering T-shirts, be sure to include the sizes.
The Hotel reservations and costs will be direct with the Little America Resort Hotel by calling the reservations desk at 1-800-352-4386 and requesting the Prowler Owners Association group rate. There will be a special, roped area to park in and some security will be provided by the hotel.
The Everley Brothers Concert will take place at the Riverside Resort and Casino in Laughlin on the evening of November 2, 2000 if you care to attend. The cost of the concert is $37.50 per person.
The Route 66 / Grand Canyon Tour 2000 is an “ala carte” event. I feel that making it "ala carte" will enable everyone to plan the type and length of event that best suits their needs and time frames.
This event will be run much like the Hot Rod Power Tours are run. You will be in charge of what and where you do and go. I will supply the general schedule and itineraries and will do everything that I can to make you time with us enjoyable. In this way I can make it much more fun for you because of the opportunities to do small side trips and stops as you wish. It also allows me to still have some fun buy not having to completely plan your every move.
I hope this helps to clarify some of the questions that have already been asked, and answer the many more that I'm sure are coming.

Julie is flying into Las Vegas on Thursday 11/2 at 2:35 PM on Southwest Airlines flight #1314. I will pick her up at the Las Vegas airport and then we will depart for our drive to Laughlin. The drive to Laughlin from Vegas is less than 2 hours. Add another couple of hours if you want to take a tour of Hoover Dam at Lake Mead. My visit to the SEMA Show will be a quick one beginning at the 10:00 AM opening time on Thursday morning before I pick Julie up. I am planning on departing Vegas at about 3:30 PM.
I will be towing my trailer with me. If anyone needs, feel free to ship anything that you would like to have at the Grand Canyon Tour 2000 and I will be happy to take it with me in the trailer to Laughlin. After Flagstaff, I will return ship anything that you sent or any items that you may have purchased while on your trip and don't have room for on your return trip.
In addition to the quoted $19.00 standard room or the $25.00 river view rooms, The Riverside Hotel in Laughlin is now also letting the Suites with a balcony, oversized rooms and upgraded furniture be reserved at a rate of $35.00 per night for our Thursday night stay on November 2, 2000.
Seating for the Everley Brothers Concert is going fast. If you are planning on being there you should call (800) 227-3849 soon for your concert reservations. If possible try to get in row 3, table b or c. They told me today that they plan on it being a sellout. We do not have a group rate or seating section for this concert.

Yes, please post to this one.
I somehow did a duplicate post when I submitted my message.

I'm happy to hear that Gary Empfield of Carlini Designs is going to be there. Maybe everyone can call any other vendors that they would like to meet and ask them to attend with us. I am VERY hopeful that Jerry Scholten will be able to attend and do a tech session for us while on the tour. Jerry will be able to answer any questions that you may have if we can arrange the tech session.

A hospitality suite has now been added to the accomodations at the Riverside Hotel and casino in Laughlin. The suite has a large balcony that overlooks the Colorado river and also the casino district of Laughlin. More on this later.

Friday 11/3 we will be including a poker run into the days activities. There will be a $20.00 buy in and the days highest poker hand (5 cards) will receive 60% of the buy in money. Second highest will receive 30% and Third will receive 10%. That's a 100% payout for you mathmatically challenged. If 20 cars participate, that would mean a $240.00 payout to the winner!

What does everybody think about having a scavenger hunt while on our trip to the Grand Canyon on Saturday?

FYI - To all of you starting out in Nevada and have never toured Hoover Dam, do not miss it! This is truly one of the wonders of the world, considering when it was built. A MUST see trip - just a hour or so journey into the heart of this great facility providing power to the west. See ya at the GC.

Jery Scholten, our Prowler Technical Advisor, will be helping us out by having three technical question and answer sessions during the events.

Jerry will be answering questions from 7:00 until 8:00 AM on both Friday and Saturday mornings and will host a Tech Session from 8:30 until 10:00 PM in the lounge of the Little America Hotel on Saturday night after the awards ceremony.

Please have your questions ready. it's not often that you can speak with a Prowler engineer directly.

Thanks DC for sending Jerry to assist the participants of the tour.
