After reading the post about breaking off the tabs of the hubcaps, I am wondering- is there a secret to taking these off? I'm getting ready to put the ceramic brake pads on my kat and don't want to screw it up. Any hints? thanks

JB,
The chances are less if you remove the center
cap by using 2 tools instead of 1. When you pry on it to get it off, just make sure it comes out straight towards you instead at an
angle. That's how I broke my 1st one by
prying on the slot with 1 tool only.
Good Luck!

I wrapped a rag around a regular screwdriver and did not have a problem. I may have used two screwdrivers, just don't twist the screwdriver.

I cracked one of mine reinstalling it. Was in a hurry and not in best position to install. I have taken mine off several times without problem UNTIL I was in a hurry at myself

I will check with friend who just so happen to have been injection mold supervisor for the company that made them. I will try and let you know this next weekend what he say's.

Ed - The parts counter said there are three caps. 1 for the early polished wheels, and 2 types for the chrome? Plastic versus metal?

I just bought a center cover for my kitty since I too broke one. The cost for me was 57 dollars and change. I asked what the best way to remove these covers were and got a very carefully.

Hey Pena, let them cover them under warranty until they can come up with some way to make them not so flimsy. Keep up the good work on your website!

I have had 3 center cap tabs break
and I was very very careful too.
all have been warranted with no problems.
I noticed on the last new cap that there was some little pins added behind the clips to prevent them from bending to far. Hope that they work.
