What taxes are assessed at purchase other than sales tax? Is there still a luxury tax? A guzzler tax? Thanks!

There is still a Federal luxury tax. (I think Pres. Bubba gets part of that for his legal fees.) It is not a guzzler.

Luxury tax is no big deal....it is 5% of the purchase amount over $38,000.....for instance, you pay $44K for the car...lux tax is 5% of 6K (44-38 =6) or $300. no gas guzzler tax...sales tax of course varies from state to state....

It's the government's way of saying, "You are too successful". Since you can afford to buy this car, you can afford to give us some cash for the priviledge. This of course is above the sales tax they get from you at signing and the yearly tag and inspection taxes.
