Yes indeed,

Quicksilver
Laddie's
Mine
Davidn's

and other do the same thing. I put 10w40 in for the huge trip and it still does it.

Been to the dealer it have it documented and thats all that could be done.

Have not a clue what it is.

OK, I asked DC rep about this same problem at a Viper/Prowler tech session in May. What he said: 1. If changing oil, use actual quart bottles of oil, as opposed to drum bulk oil that service centers use. He said even if same brand and weight, the bulk oil is not as good as the quart bottles. While I doubted this theory, what do I know. 2. Use only the finest two stage oil filter. Most filters let all the oil drain back to the pan. Best filters have a check valve inside that doesn't let all the oil drain back down, keeping some oil in top end for start up lubrication. Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger. That is what the MAN said. You tell me!

Let the Kat sit for a while. Still have the noisy lifter noise from the engine.
Took it out and ran it hard. No good, same noise. Took my Glock out but did not have the heart to shot it.
WHAT's NEXT?????

Hey, PhxSuncat...any hints from DC rep on the brand of filter you referenced? I'm a do-it-yourself type and don't want to scrimp on the cat. Who do they suggest?

Rep didn't say, but I would think Mobil 1, Mopar, or highest priced ones. Pay me now, or pay me later.............like they say!

Are they in season, or is it too early to shoot them? I thought the season opened the middle of October?

Mine will make the noise if the car sits for more than a day. When I drive it it does it when I first start it for a few seconds then quits.

CALLING TOM MILLS, CALLING TOM MILLS or any other 300 owner

DOES THE 300 DO THIS AFTER SITTING A FEW DAYS?

Mine will tap for a couple of sec after sitting for a couple of days, but it goes right away-I'm not worried about that as this may be normal bleed down-but if it continued, I'd worry!!
