How many Kat owners encourage their
spouses to drive the car and share in the
good time? How did you get them to do it?

Well, Midlife, as I told you before, my husband won't drive my car.......he says its mine to enjoy.......ain't he sweet?! Good thing, though; I have to admit I would be very selfish and always want to drive anyway...... It just makes it easier to not have to turn him down!

Oh, I forgot......he always goes with me though and we love to go to cruise nights!!!

Midlife,

When I first got the car my wife wouldn't take it out. But then I ask are you afraid to drive it, Yes she was. Also afraid to take out of the garage. I got her to drive it and thought I was going to get sea sick from going all over the road. But I showed her she didn't need to move the wheel much to get the car to DART around. Now if I'm working and she wants to go to a car show she takes it and cleans it up for the shows. If anyone wants a ride in it, I have her take them most of the time.

Happy Prowlin, IF YOU EVER GET THE KEYS BACK

Well, my wife doesn't want to drive it. She says it's my toy and hopes that I enjoy it. Well I think she found out tonight just HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS CAR! I did however share this experience with my 24 yr old nephew, who absolutely loves cars and knows a lot about them. I treated him to some laps and he surely showed that he can also drive them.
I wish I could get my wife to try, but she would rather not but I would be elated if she would at least try. She did though run some nice speeds with me tonight on that backside and turn 3.

Paul, I think I helped convince MidlifeProwler's wife to drive their car...do you think I can help with yours?

Check out the topics from MidlifeProwler! (Still can't figure out this link thing, Gary!)

When we got our Prowler a year ago my wife said was afraid to drive it. That lasted 1 day. Now can't keep her out of it. I'm happy she enjoys it as much (or more) as I do.

Welcome to the POA site, Nelson and Carol. I can't imagine anyone NOT liking the cat, especially after driving it. Not only does it bring smiles to your face, it puts smiles on everyone who sees it! It's rather infectious, don't you think?

Keep posting on the site....it's always nice to meet new people, share ideas and thoughts and plain just have FUN!!!

I DO NOT encourage my spouse to drive the Kat!!!!! Its my toy and I don't want to share it! I for one don't care if my spouse every drives it, because that means I get to drive it any time I want. Does that sound mean? I'm realy not a mean person, I just LOVE driving the Kat!! No matter what stress is going on around me, if I get in that car and go for a ride - it all goes away! Once your spouse gets the real feeling of this car, you will have to SHARE! So, remember that, make sure you want to share before you try to encourage her to drive. My spouse is my husband! He is always trying to talk me out of driving, you are going to have the same problem once she falls in love with that car - and she will!!!!!

Carol,
I know EXACTLY what you mean! It's a great
diversion from the "blues" if you have any.
I have a feeling we'll be looking for
another kat for my better half 'cause she's
hooked and I still don't have my keys back yet! And I owe it all to CJ. And no,CJ....
I don't BLAME YOU one bit! It'll be cool;
his and her kats but I'll probably get stuck cleaning then too!!

Okay, MidlifeProwler......that's where I would draw the line. She drives.....she cleans! I take care of my own car. Bob only does the major wax job (he won't let me do that....you know how guys are).

I am so glad that she is having such a good time with it. I was coming home from my grandson's 3rd b'day party the other evening and it was 75 degrees, lots of stars out.....beautiful night. Bob was following in his car (we had to meet at the party since he had a late meeting) and when we stopped at a traffic light, this guy pulls up next to me in the left turn lane. Gives me the thumbs up and said, "What a beautiful ride...love your car!" Get home and pull in the garage, wishing I could just keep driving. I love that car.......what a high!!! And it does chase the blues away.....I always feel better after a ride in the cat!!

My wife tries to say that her Explorer is unsafe with it's stock tires. I tell her my Prowler is unsafe with her behind the wheel.
She's driven it a few times. The main thing I was concerned about when she drives it is that she likes to have her mirrors adjusted so she can see the side of the car. I had to explain to her that in this car, if you do that, you could risk hitting someone if they're on the side of you. And I had to explain that those side mirrors are sopposed to be aimed at the blind spots, the rear view mirror is made for just that, rear view. Now she understands
