Is it true that you can not "order" a prowler. How does one get one. Also how does one test drive one... having found one at a dealer locally. Help! |

CMitch - Welcome to the POA website. If you found one at a local dealership, they should let you short test drive it before buying. But, having said that, all of us can assure you that NO roadster can put a smile on your face and others, like the Prowler. Its not a Viper or Corvette, but is a fun packed machine that draws more attention than the other two combined. It is not for an introvert person. In Metro areas nearby, there should be a place that daily rents Corvettes or Porshes, that may have a Prowler to rent for a day? Good luck, buy one, enjoy, and venture back to this website often! ------------------ |

Good luck in finding dealer to let you TEST DRIVE a Cat. You cannot order but you can find one thru the internet. Be prepared to invest some time to find a car at the price you are willing to pay. Some for sell right here on the site. Tom Mills yellow 99 6,000 miles As far as ordering I waited 2 1/2 years for mine and was lucky to get yellow car. I was promised the 2nd car the dealer got. Have had for 2 years and love it. I do like the new SPARKLE PROWLER ORANGE but it is not into production yet. Was at Auburn yesterday and some guy had a Black & Silver but IT WAS NOT A FACTORY Black Tie edition. several for sale there. Sale is going on until Tuesday, I saw Purple, Yellow , and the want to be Black Tie. They did paint the bumpers silver and that looked good. ------------------ |

What color are you looking for? That is the only variable, except for price, of course. Shop around and you can find a decent price, usually in smaller cities or towns, not in California. The midwest seems to be the better buys. Godd luck and take your time. |

Hey Guys... The dealer here in Dallas called DavidN yesterday and said they had just recieved the #8 Black Tie Edition, but they only wanted $62K for it. I think this is another example of the dealers cranking up the prices in which restricts the sales. To me the car is worth $100K and I can't imagine not having it in the garage and beneath my butt when driving. PaulR |

HI CMitch..Your are about to make an interesting discovery...there aren't many Prowlers on the road...but it seems like everyone wants one when it is time to buy..they don't seem to be anywhere. In reality it does'nt have to be all that difficult. Between the time I decided that I wanted a new Red 2000 until it was delivered to my door, 3 1/2 weeks had passed. The secret lies in working with a dealer who will work for you...by finding a list of available Prowlers to choose from. I did pay a couple hundred over sticker for the service, but ihe gave me 3 to choose from. I now have 2000 a joyful miles on a red 2k instead of still looking. Most cars that I have seen advertised are well over sticker anyway. Best of luck. (get ready for the mid life crisis queries)..tell them.."If I was having a midlife crisis, I'm all better now!" |

Try this out for a tactic. Find a Prowler you like on EBay, watch the pace of the bidding and if it closes before the reserve is met, wait 24 hours and call the dealer. Ask them if you can have the car for slightly more than the last highest bid and chances are you're on your way to ownership. The dealers need to turn these units within a short period and don't like having the bank "hold the paper" on it too long. It's not good business to let them sit too long. Maybe the dealer's reserve is ridiculously high. Your phone call might just snap them out of it and move it out at a fair markup for them. Bought mine in a little town in Oklahoma just that way and towed it home. The anticipation during the tow-home just made the first drive at home that much sweeter. I decided to buy a Prowler one night after too many beers. Next day, got on the Prowler Web and called four dealers mentioned there. Wanted Blk/Blk. NY,PA and SC wanted 55,000 but no black. Palm Beach, Fl. had a yellow and a black in the show room. Three days latter , I had my black Prowler for $46,700. Love the car!!!! Frank PS: Blond girls love it too. |
