I ran into a fellow Prowler with a black 2000. His front wheels are pitting, it looks like a fine haze that he can't polish out. He says he's spoked to a number of 2000 owners with the same problem. My silver 00 doesn't have the same hazeing his has, but on the inside, there are tiny bumps, almost like very large dust particles, that he suggests are the beginning of pitting. Any thoughts out there on this? |

My "99" has a few small areas where the chrome has come off on the back side of the wheel. DC must of skimped on the chroming......... |

Tom, I just received a new pair of rear wheels because the original ones were flaking on the back side. one of the new ones on the backside is full of dirt specks looks terrible I will be sending it back. the chrome on these prowler wheels sucks big time.there are small pits in the aluminum and dent marks on the wheel from poor handling during the process. In my opinion the factory chrome wheels look great on the face. ON MOST ALL CARS this is all that needs to be polished before chroming. The Prowler with the open wheel with both sides showing and the large opening in the rear make it necessary to polish the back side of the wheel just as the face is done. I have looked at several factory chrome wheels and compared to mine (factory painted silver). I sent mine out to be chromed and requested show chrome on the face and the rear of the rim. Polishing and chroming the back side of the wheel cost me an extra $50 per wheel, but I think well worth it. If the factory wheels are flaking they should be replaced. If there is imperfections in the back side of the rim, it is normal unless DC would do 100 point show chrome on the rear side of the wheel. REMEMBER THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY |

I had a spot about the size of a quarter where the chrome flaked off. The local dealer (not where I bought it) ordered a new one and replaced it, no problem. It was a front rim. |
