Mike, I found out the woofers Sound Innovations will try to use on my Prowler during my audio install. They take very little space due to their inverted magnet design. Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Did you get the pics of my vbelts? Their site! ------------------ |

Dan, How about letting us know what your plans are... where are you planning on mounting the Sub? What amp? How do these speakers compare to MB Quartz, or Focal? Many questions....Send us the plans and the pics when you start. Glenn |

Glenn, Here our my goals and hope most of them can be achieved. 1. I plan on mounting a 12 inch illusion woofer on the driver and passengers side by cutting the drivers and passengers floor out and creating an aluminum box that will create the woofer inclosure. The top end of the aluminum box will be reinforced and welded into place. I know this sounds crazy but this is where I'm going. I want a nice low 10-100hz sound wave with about 150 db force. 2. The doors will be redone and custom molded to hold 2 eight inch mid-woofers and tweeters. These will cover the 80 to 20K hz range. 3. I will plan on having a full AC3 multimedia setup so I will have some sort of center channel and utilize my rear tweeter locations for the rear channels. AC3 controller is still being decided. The choice of speakers will be Boston Acoustics or MB Quarts. Undecided at this time. The amps will be PPI. The signal controllers will be by Audio Control. I'm still trying to decide what type of receiver will run the show. I like Macintosh but their face displays are ugly. There are new LCD display receivers coming out and need to explore them. I'm about 3 weeks away from taking in my Prowler. Ernie at Sound Innovations has me on the list. He still needs to finish a farari, Bmw saleen mustang and a mustang gt. We will see what can be done and what cannot. I talked to a dealer about cutting the floor and they basically in facial expressions indicated to me, your crazy. Should be fun though!! ------------------ |

Thanks for the info on the subwoofer Dan! That's a pretty radical design moving the magnet and voice coil to the opposite side of the speaker but why not, it seems like it should work as long as the magnets weight is supported by the frame. Thanks again for the info. Please let us know about your audio upgrade! ------------------ |
