Well just about 24 hrs from now Frances will makes land fall in South-east Florida. Some 2.5 million Florida residents are under evacuation orders, the largest evacuation request in state history. It's a big traffic nightmare vehicles were left stranded on the side of roads, because of gas scarce.A lot of places are running out of plywood, generators, sand bags, batteries, flashlights just for a few things.Frances is down to a category two for now which will help the people in the state.A lot of places will get around 20" of rain a really slow moving hurricane.Today is the start of the feeder bans which are high winds and rain combined. Was going to fly to Mich today but change my mind will stay. |

David What airport were you flying from? All the airports in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, PBI, and Orlando are all closed and have been since yesterday morning. We've had some wind & power outages already here in south Palm Beach county. Our power was restored shortly thereafter but Marji & Ted Mathieu in North Palm have already been without their power since early this morning. Good luck to you & Shirley during this ordeal. Jay, please keep us posted on the conditions. (as long as you can anyway) We are praying for all of you there in Florida. I have family in Fort Lauderdale and in Miami. Not sure what their plans were for this Hurricane.(most of them are quite elderly) Also have a good friend who works for FEMA. He has been down there since Charlie stopped in. Talked to him on Thursday. He and others were on their way to Georgia, till after the storm. Sounds like now, he will have plenty of work. Take care Florida.....Kim ------------------ |

good luck to you guys. My wife's daughter flew north from the Miami area yesterday morning after sandbagging her place. Looks like we're having guests for a couple of days. |

While downgraded, Frances still remains as a large, dangerous force to deal with. I hope that all of you Florida cats that chose to stay and fight it out will take provided shelter in safe buildings. Do not take this evil storm lightly,,,it's packing some real destruction to whatever is in it's path. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you people in Florida. Larry and Lethia |

As Frances passes over and past you Florida owners,,,please check in with us to let us know that you and your family are alright. It doesn't look like any picnic riding out the destructive winds and excess rain that Frances is producing. |

We made it thru the nite with zero damage & still have power!! Very thankful for that. In our immediate neighborhood the only visible damage are some large uprooted trees that seem to have missed hitting any homes. Will hopefully post some photos later tonite. Hope everyone else was as fortunate with Frances as we were and thanks for everyone's concerns. Nancy & Jay |

My father and his wife live in Ft. Lauderdale (near The Galleria shops). They have been without power since yesterday, but their home remained intact and relatively undamaged. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have not been as fortunate. Kevin ------------------ |

Just talked to George Maxey he made it thru OK still has no electricity and has trees down. His car rode the storm out at Jay Harris shop. Its always great to see one member helping out another! ------------------ |
