Just a curious question for the Viper afficianados here. This car is being offered by the same consignment shop that is marketing my Mercedes. Pardon my ignorance, but can a Viper really be pushed up to 900 HP? Is $85K a reasonable asking price for a '96? Just curious.

Thanks,

They can certainly pump 1000 hp. Not sure on this car and price does seem a little steep.

..My business partner just got his '96 Viper back from Heffner Performance in Baltimore a few months ago and it was running 846 HP at the rear wheels....since then it has been back for more tweaking.....they are not only capable of 900 HP, but as much as 12-1300 HP is possible from the Viper SRT....
...I drove the '96 with 846 HP.....like holding onto a rocket.....I never experienced anything like it....we pulled away from a stoplight and I hit a few hard gears, looked down and we were already passing 145mph....it was capable of 9:90 /147 quarters, NOW IT'S FASTER !!!

counting the original cost of the Viper and all the different mods thru the years, plus the final trip to Heffners, he has in excess of $120K in the car....$85K might be high, or it might be fair, depending on WHAT mods were made.....this '96 has EVERYTHING, including a full roll cage.....it will be at the strip soon as the snow breaks....beware if the car is a Hennessey Viper....many of them didn't recieve all the mods the customer paid for......If you want to drive in HYPERSPACE, modified Vipers are the only game in town...

YF.....yes, Hennessey is still building cars, and customers are still complaining, although he is said to be making amends for the past, not too many seem to believe....he is still poison in the Viper community and probably always will be....

Let me tell you that is one hell of a viper. It's got SVS headers so yeha I'd say it's a good 900hp.The car also has those Kenisis 540's on it(I think I'm right)and a really expinsive paint job.A gallon of that stuff I think is close to $3,000!I give that GTS a A+++

1 year that's all I need and I'll be able to cruise with the cool cats.
