I bought a used RT/10 last week, it is in Bristol PA. I got a quote from DAS, who did a great job moving my Candy from FL in March... They said bring the car to their drop off location in Bristol before Noon on Saturday, for shipping later that day. That happened...
What hasn't happened is actual shipping. The car is sitting in the rain in Bristol. They have no place to store it. It will not get picked up for 3 - 4 more days... The weather is supposed to be rain / sleet on Sunday. It will be sitting out in the goo. I can only hope the top doesn't leak like my Prowlers...

I called Reliable, they can't pick it up for 2 weeks. They recommended Horseless carriage. They can't pick it up for 7 - 10 days.

I called Passport Transport / Fed Ex they cant pick the car up until the 12 - 16 of December.

Is there another carrier I should try? I appreciate any clues...
My concern isn't getting it here faster, I would like to get it picked up faster so that it doesn't get damaged by rain and sleet.

Thanks
Kala

If I lived in PA, I'd offer to drive it to Cally for ya' but since that isn't the case, I imagine another 3 or 4 days won't be the end of the world...just aggravating! I'd probably just wait n gnash my teeth until it arrived! *~*

I guess Im being neurotic about my new baby sitting in the rain, sleet & snow on Sunday... It just seems wrong that I pay for enclosed service, then they leave it outside unprotected for a week...

It is VERY WRONG Kala--and I would HATE IT also...but...unfortunately, welcome to the world of those who don't give a rat's hindquarters! When purchasing as you have you're always subject to someone else's care...or lack thereof! I feel for ya' as I've had similar life experiences! But it did save you a 1-way ticket to Bristol!

I used DAS a year ago for shipping a car...i would NEVER use them again. after 15 unreturned phone calls and 7 days of waiting after the promised pick-up day/time, shipped through another carrier. Almost sued them for my deposit--ended up having the credit card company sucessfully fight it.

Kala - seems you lived up to your part of the bargin,,,but the shipper didn't Request that they store the car in a covered storage until it is loaded and shipped [enclosed]. Tell them that the seller would have kept the car stored longer,,,,if you knew they were not being truthful up front about 'shipping that day the car was dropped off'!! I'd be P.O. also.
Bark, rant, and rave,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Check out this website for reviews on movers, before you get to much in a hurry and get burned again. I had a small outfit out of Vegas move my 2000 Sienna to Florida earlier this year. I couldn't believe the service, I received from them, they picked up the car in front of my home on Thursday evening about 8:00PM and they were offloading it in Ft. Walton Beach Monday evening at 1000PM at my Daughter's home. Clean as a whistle and not one scratch. The only problem is this company only moves autos, between Nevada, California, Arizona and Florida. That way they offer great service, timely delivery, and they can quote a very fair price.

Just don't get to careless and jump from the frying pan into the fire. Since you are so concerned about the auto, bite the bullet, get upper level enclosed hauler, pay the extra, because the weather coming across the states this time of the year can be a bit worst and what it is going through now.

I didn't know you were purchasing....could have recommended Gary Almond, he started by hauling Vipers for Heffner Performance(Viper tuner in Baltimore)....he just dropped a Prowler off at my holding tank la couple of weeks ago and has delivered several Vipers to my door.....he picks the cars up at the owners house and drops them off at yours....

your car should be fine sitting, even in bad weather.....when you get it in California and the sun shines, all else will be forgotten....have fun and send me some pix when you get time...

I had an Academy Award caliber drama attack on DAS yesterday... They ended the call saying they would pick it up in 3 - 4 days, instead of picking it up on Monday.

DAS moved the Candy from Florida to here with no problems... We'll see what happens with the Viper. I do know this... I will never use DAS again...

I also heard from another carrier, that DAS really isnt an enclosed carrier... Their trailers are soft sided and are open to the road below. I'll probably have a big detail job ahead of me...

I'll be busy the next 2 days... I'll be calm as long as I dont turn on the weather channel channel in my hotel room tonight

Yep, I used DAS for mine, and when it got to Florida, they called me so I could pick it up, and I said the weather was ugly out, so I was going to wait till the following day. Then they told me it is outside so it gets weather on it anyhow. What's the point of shipping enclosed when they just leave it in the elements before and/or after? (Well I guess no stone chips from travel)
