Put a air-ride system in the SSR. You can park it then real low and cool. And, you still have a good ride comfort.
Also, cool is a remote controle to open the top.
I saw a dual cut out exhaust on a SSR, with remote. You can swich from the org. exhaust to noisy hot rod sound ( for show only...)
SSR´s need chrom wheels and running boards to look cool, or put a set of 20" / 22" Budnik´s on.
The org. Bose System in the SSR is OK. This is something I would not change. ( .. or maybe you are 20 year old and like the loud hip hop sound...)

I like the SSR in yellow...If it was a dark color I'd say flame it, but I have a 1/18 scale yellow SSR and it looks nice as is.

Moe:

Congrats on the SSR!

All great suggestions above.

I think the lines of the SSR scream out for graphics or flames.

Is there any preventive maintenance that could be done to possibly keep this failure from happening or at least hold if off for awhile?

To me the SSR really screams blower (anything GM seems to say that to me). SC, gears, and a little more meat underneath to hook-up with a 6-speed would be my plan if I had one....

Defintely go to www.ssrfanatic.com, that's where you will find all the mods that can be done and all the help just like the POA for anything that ails you. You'll see all the flame jobs, gears, windsuppressr, stabillissr, decals, engine upgrades, mudflaps, wheels, and many other things to upgrade to. Welcome to the Prowler and SSR club and enjoy the ride!

I have a 05 black "R" truck, have did a few things to it.
Painted all the silver stuff black, lowered the rear, added
chrome wheels, got a front spoiler ordered that should have been here about 4 weeks ago.
Just ordered a glass hood with scoop that will be here in about 3 weeks.
It is the same one Rick has on his.
When you get on www.ssrfanatic.com, look at Ricks 2 tone
SSR, he put a lot of work in it.
Changed the mufflers and pipes out to 3 inch, that should have brought the HP to around 400+.
There is a lot of info and ideas on that site.
Also don't forget to do the Zaino wax job on it and the Prowler.
I don't think I am going to flame mine, but who knows what
tomorrow will bring, flames, two-tone, or flip-flop.
As soon as they get a tuner out for a 05, I'll get one.
They have them for the 4s, but not the 5s.
I have a picture of mine in the Prowler Scrap Book if you
would like to look at it.
Look under Eddie Boone.
When I get my spoiler and hood, I will add a picture of it.
