The Worlds Fastest Naturally Aspirated Prowler broke it's own record. We ran the 302 (5L) Westech Stroker once again tonight at Great Lakes Dragway. After a little tuning, Jim Daley (WESTECH DRIVER) ran a 12.312.

Again, these are real world numbers with no altitude/humidity correction. Conditions at the track were far from ideal (74 degrees with 75% humidity) and we will be shooting for some even lower numbers after a few more tweaks and cooler temperatures.

60' 1.635 sec
330' 4.950 sec
1/8 7.772 sec
1/8 86.95 mph
1000' 10.234 sec
1/4 12.312 sec
1/4 107.56 mph

Thanks again to Jim and Norm at Westech Automotive!

Mike - sounds like Norm is getting better and better with the tuning. That's a great ET and the 60 foot mark is really impressive. When I talked to Jim today on the phone he mentioned they were going to the track but didn't hint they thought they had picked up that much in just a week!

AC - You're gonna need DOT street slicks to hook up on the street. That would be a nice "welcome to the museum" present you could buy for the "302" when it arrives in Houston!

WOW!! Mike!!

12.312 is a very nice run for a naturally aspirated run. Did you take a video footage??

Should make a very nice street car.

It will be killer to run against them mustangs and vetts.

Later..

Thanks Dan! I'd be anxious know if Norm or Jim had a video camera with them too. I was so excited that I forgot to ask!

Nice Numbers Guys!

I remember the first time we ran 12's

with a naturally aspirated Prowler.

OH . . . . WHAT A FEELING!

CORVETTES AND PORSCHES BEWARE!

We have the traction, torque and horsepower.

Dean, I hear very good things about your stroker, but I've seen no real track numbers. When I say real, I mean no altitude correction. I'd like to challenge you to a race at Great Lakes Dragway in the next couple of weeks? Your stroker against my Westech stroker, both naturally aspirated... One on one! Call me.

Sunday... Sunday... At Great Lakes Dragway!

How about Denver's Bandimere Speedway at Thunder Mountain with you driving? at a Corvette Club event - we will teach them a new found respect for our Prowlers!

I think that it needs to be added that Mike's car is running the stock final drive ratio and "all engine." He isn't using nitrous or any power enhancer plus that's on pump gas.

Dean,

I just got off the phone with Bandimere Speedway and it seems that they are closed for the season after this Sunday 9th, so my original offer still stands!

Don't sing it, just bring it to Great Lakes Dragway!

The Vette and Viper guys in Wisconsin will be just as impressed as the guys in Colorado!.

Are you up to the challenge?

The Vipers in Wiscoisin are slow - at least for the first 1/8 mile

Denver, Wisconsin, or wherever - if you guys run and I can get time off - I'm there to see you race!

The last time this was bandied about there were others involved and the word "Poser" kept appearing. It would be sweet to see this race occur this time. I would probably try to get there.

This would be one for the ages! If I knew that there was enough interest, I would be sure to get there with camera in hand.

How about this....next year we have the event at Louisville. Neutral territory for both Mike and Dean and rather centrally located. Find a convenient track and have one day to sort the cars out and then a best two out of three shoot out the next day. Prowler owners that would like to run their cars could do so between rounds of the shoot out. Any interested parties could run in the shoot out by declaring ahead of time. This would be a straight up run what you brung side by side racing. Winning holds the title until the next side by side event at a mutually agreed upon site and time.

No altitude corrections, no weather conditions just head to head racing like the good old days. Gentlemen, are you up to the challenge?

Nice. If it's not too early in the year and we're done I'll work to have the Westech turbo build there for it's debut.
