Just FYI for all attending the Prowler Drags... We're having an NHRA Div 4 points meet out at No Problem Raceway... Same place we'll have the Prowler Drags on Oct. 11th... Here's the link to events section... http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000452.html I've been out there since Thursday providing some volunteer help... Today was 2nd day of qualifying and tomorrow is finals... The best times I saw today were 5.57 for alcohol Dragster & 5.90 for alcohol Funny Car... Now, this is my first time at an NHRA race... These alcohol dragsters are LOUD>>> Here's some pics from the track today...
No Prowlers out there today, but we'll be Prowlin' the track on Friday, Oct. 11th...

Laddie, If you have not been to hear the Nitro cars run at an NHRA or an IHRA drag race, you don't know what loud is! Please take the opportunity to attend a regular tour stop at a drag facility near you to see the fuel cars run and try to arrange it so you can see them run in the evening on Friday so you can not only hear the cacaphony but "see" the header flames! You will never forget it I assure you. Just be sure to take or buy hearing protection!! How about the rest of you...any drag racing fans out there in Prowler land?? Mike |

Marty. I hope the skies are the same. However, the temps needs to be cooler... It has been 95 degrees and high humidity all this weekend... Mike. I'll take a Nat NHRA event in sometime... We should have one here in a couple of years... Now today, this Jet Dragster ran a 5.25 ET & 302 MPH... I was in the pits earlier and got these pics. However, when it ran, I was out at front gate directing traffic... Man it made some smoke and not sure if that was tires or engine... From where I was I don't think it was as loud as the alcohol dragster...But, it was diefinitely the most smoke I saw all this week... By the way, one of the good things about this track. It is concrete for the first 1/8 mile... Here's a few pics from today... Less than one month to Prowler Drags... |

There is NOTHING like seeing, hearing and feeling a top fuel dragster! I always preferred the night racing, then you really saw the flames. Funny cars come in at a close second.......... Makes Pro Stock cars (like WJ's) seem very slow, even though they can run over 200mph! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |
