I know the 1997 Prowler has a different engine in it then 1999+ models. Here is what I know:

215 HP, V-6
Aluminum Heads, Cast Iron Block
Dual casted Intake (good for NOS)

Where did this Engine come from? I know the 1999+ engine is 300M motor.

Thanks

Four-speed electronically controlled automatic transaxle

Final drive ratio is 3.89
Individual gears are 2.842 1st, 1.573 2nd, 1.000 3rd and 0.689 (overdrive) 4th

No typo, Fatman, unless they made a typo in the 1997 Prowler brochure, which is where these specs came from.

As I stated in my last reply to this thread, I am quoting the specifications that are printed in the 1997 Plymouth Prowler 26-page brochure. For three years, I was also required to "know my stuff" about the Prowler. The motorsports company that I worked for the last 5 years, built the Plymouth Prowler Road Show program for Chrysler. As the Program Manager, I handled all aspects of the program, including staffing it at numerous events. It was necessary for me to be able to answer consumer questions about the Prowler.

If you still question the accuracy of my last reply, perhaps you can get a copy of the mentioned brochure and read it for yourself or contact a DC engineer for verification.

CJ, I'm sure you know whatever but just quoting information, no matter how right or wrong, as in this case, you don't know anything about this subject. If you did, you wouldn't try to pose or brag " I know my stuff" about motors. Again, for your information, wrist pins are not made of aluminum............live and learn......and I don't mean anyting by it, I'm just saying............

Jerry,

CJ was just quoting from a Prowler brochure. If the information is not correct it's not her fault, she's just trying to be helpful!

Jerry, looks like your problem should be with DC Engineering and or Printing departments, not CJ. You should call DC and ask about a 5 year old brochure, I'm sure they'll get right on it for you.

Mike, thanks for the picture.

FM...You have no idea what I know or don't know and shame on me for trying to help someone who asked a question. You don't know me either and I don't "pose or brag" to be anything I'm not. I am not ignorant when it comes to the mechanicals of vehicles, nor have I ever claimed to know everything. My comment to Dan Pena was an inside joke between him and me and was directed specifically toward him, not anyone else.

You have made it clear on this board that you don't appreciate being bashed or criticized and that you should be able to say what you want without reprisal because this is supposed to be a "free speech" forum. I don't disagree with that; however, I don't appreciate you constantly doing that to me, either. I believe everyone deserves that same consideration, including me.

Your time and comments on these forums would be more beneficial if it was constructive and positive help - which is all any of us are trying to do for each other on this site.

Here we go again, its on now!!! ya'll always trying to make the Fatman look like a hardass. Andy, you can KTFMA...........maybe you should call DC and ask them why your such a dumba$$.........
CJ, your a girl, and very few know anyting about building motors. You showed me what you know about motors(copy and paste is not knowing) and I can only interpet what I read as I do. My issue here now is that you CJ, trying to pose as the knowlege base for the prowler just showed you know nothing and just post what you can find in a brochure.............it is wrong and you are wrong. I shoot straight from the hip and it seems it hurts your feelings. SORRY!!! If you meant that "I know my stuff" as a joke, you would of put "ha ha or hehe" which would of made that clear. You were trying to pose, like mike did at the race in TX. It don't bother me when others post aginst me or slam me, I take it with a stiff upper lip and hammer back. I'm a man, its what men do. I'm sure somewhere there is a woman that knows how to build a motor but they are few and far inbetween and you ain't one of them........................thats all I am saying here now...................come back.............

Nothing is "on now". You are one of those people who read what they want into things and then make a big deal out of it, just to stir controversy because it's the only way you know.

I have never claimed to be able to build a motor. I have never claimed to know everything. Neither am I "automotive stupid". Come on into this century...there are a lot of women out there who have made a place in the automotive world....gasp!! There is nothing wrong with copying and pasting information if it's something you don't know about. You "guys" do it all the time on this board. It's not only about what you "know", it's being able to be resourceful in finding answers in order to help. If you are so smart, then why were you emailing my husband and asking him for answers with regard to your motor and the computer codes? Even you have to ask for help once in a while.

With regard to the joke, if you look again, there is a laughing icon at the top! Since my joke was directed to Dan, I wasn't aware that I had to make it "clear" for you.

Don't flatter yourself Fatman, you don't hurt my feelings. I worked with guys in the motorsports venue that were a lot worse than you and I am a whole lot tougher than you think. It would take more than the likes of you to hurt me.

quote:
ya'll always trying to make the Fatman look like a hardass
......no, you manage to do that all by yourself.

Perhaps instead of working on your motor so much, you should spend some time working on your self-esteem. People who have low self-esteem have to belittle and berate others to make themselves feel superior. Pity!

I have a great deal of work to do for the Dream Cruise, so I will not be goaded into wasting any more time and effort to keep this going just so you have something to spout off about. You can have the last word.......it's just a shame that it won't be anything positive.

WOW CJ, I'm impressed..........not only are you a prowler expert buy you also are a master psychotherapist...........I'm healed................except I won't post a answer I'm not sure of. I don't pretend to know alot about motor building. Not being a member of this club, as stated in the last issue of Mopar Now, you possie members think you know it all. HA HA. What a joke, and as far as asking Bob, you offered so I asked him as I could tell you knew nothing of how the prowlers computer works. Its simple CJ, I have zero tolorance for bullpoopers.....now go do what you do best.........whatever that may be............woodward goddest............what a joke..........wantabee is more like it.............and now, you too can KTFMA..................is this positive enough for you??????

hey now Andy, I wasn't joking.............cj just can't admit when she is wrong. I have no doubt she was just trying to help but her info was inaccurate and I was just trying to correct it, but when I do this, she always goes off on me, so what. And then you add your smarta$$ comment so you gonna get some back from the Fatman..........

I am serious when I say I roll in the floor reading some of the stuff written on this forum. I just hope no one gets mad. Sometimes when you read between the lines there are good points from everyone. This is just a comment and not meant to be support for anyone's view. I just enjoy the back and forth stuff.

My smarta$$ comments were just a way to bring attention to the fact that it seems silly to go off the handle because of a possible bit of misinfo in a car brochure. I don't mind "getting some back from the Fat Man", it'll probably be the best I'll get all week!!

FMITBT...Jerry,

First of all, this post is not to defend CJ from the likes of you. She is and always has been capable of taking care of herself and I am proud of her for that.

As her husband, I'm only sorry that I can't say what I really want to say to you in public. May I suggest that you post your phone number the next time you suggest that my wife "KTFMA" so that we may resolve this man to man instead of your hiding behind your computer. You have no right to speak to her in that manner for any reason, let alone something as trivial as information in a brochure. Didn't you ever learn manners and polite behavior or does the computer excuse outright rudeness toward another human being?

What is your problem? You've complained that "no one will help you." I listened and felt SORRY for you. I wasted time running down answers for you and by the way, you can have the fuel pressure regulator spring if you make it here before the garbage goes out in the morning.

quote:
It don't bother me when others post aginst me or slam me, I take it with a stiff upper lip and hammer back. I'm a man, its what men do.

Speak for yourself. A real man shows respect for others, especially women, and you are the only "man" on this board that has no respect for anyone. You're a fine example of manhood and should be really proud of your positive contributions to this board and Prowler owners in general.

while I have not a clue about cars... I can certainly testify that I have personally seen ancient motorcycles use things such as aluminum, brass and magnesium for wrist pins in old racers... regardless if that was factory or not... people have used all kinds of strange stuff over the years. you'd be amazed what they have used for fuel instead of gas around 1900 - 1910.

Bob, thanks for responding to this cretin. FMITBT, where do you get all this venom? Just how pissed off are you with man and womankind? You normally can conduct yourself in a reasonably interesting manner contributing to this site. When you begin such rude and unwarranted attacks you cross the line between being controversial and just being a blowhard bully. And, surprisingly, you seem to be the only one who hasn't figured that out for yourself because you continue to re-establish this reputation with regularity.

Let me guess....I'd say from your behavior that either your father never took you out to the woodshed for behavior modification or you grew up without one. Why don't you, for a change, keep the poisonous comments about people to yourself, or is that asking for more discipline than you could possibly muster?

You take an innocent question and response and make someone else the focus of a ridiculous diatribe. Cut it out....neither CJ deserved what you wrote nor does Mike Krehel need to fund this wonderful website for your personal ranting about others.
