Just another attempt by NASCAR to put in the "fix" for Hendrick Motor Sports. Mark Martin said it all in his interview. There was no reason for that next to last caution except to let a Hendrick car win.

It might seem that way, but I don't believe it. I think that that is pretty disrespectfull to the entire Hendricks organization. What an emotional victory for those people, and it would be terrible to cheapen it with claims like that. I was there when Jr. won the pepsi 400 after his father died and alot of people were calling it a fix then too, and I felt the same way then too. JMO!!------------------ BackinBlack

what was the reason for the caution ? i was giving out treats for the halloweeners and missed it... debris ??he was screwed by the circumstances.... to pit or not to pit , that was the question.. i wonder if he had gone for the 4 tires if that would have changed anything.

I guess I am just so jaded against NASCAR with all the crap they pull these days, that I believe they did it today and I belive they did it when Dale Sr. died and I believe they did it when Richard Petty won his 200th race at Daytona on his birthday with the President in the stands. That is why I quit watching and quit going to the races. I just happened to be "flipping" by when Mark was being interviewed. I didn't watch the race, so I have no idea what the circumstances were for the caution.

I don't mean any disrespect towards anyone or any team, but I felt that caution coming out with Harvick's car stopping near the pit entrance was not needed. A push truck could have had #29 either in his pit stall or behind the wall within 10 seconds of reaching his rear bumper. The Harvick car stopped just a few feet away from the pit "speed zone" line,,,,,soooo close to making it in AND nobody on the track was going to make a green flag pit stop at that moment. The fact is,,,,,,,,,,,Mark Martin got screwed [using Viagra],,,,but,,that is racing.I was for Casey Kane,,but his Dodge didn't have the legs on those last two or three restarts, for whatever reason. That is exactly what I mean, AC. There would not have been a caution if a member of the "right" team had been leading at that point.

All these sports are now big business. I think they pretty much know the outcome in any sport before the event starts. They may not be able to choreograph everything right down to each move, but when a call, or a penalty, or a caution flag is needed to help someone, I think they get it. Kinda like professional wrestling!

hey dave.. can you think of any sports that are 100% legit...??? theres always a key player is team sports that can make the difference... officials or referees can be swayed....hockey has goalies, football- quarterbacks, baseball -pitchers...maybe drag racing is fair & square...downhill skiing could be.... interesting subject

I don't view any of them as legit. And the so-called athletes are just actors type-cast for the part.

I have been to almost all of the restricter plate races in the last few years, and I was one of the bunch of people that grew tired of seeing JR. and Micheal Waltrip follow each other around, and we used to say that they must be giving them bigger plates or something like that, something diabolical. But then I would hear myself and realize that there are 42 other guys out there that want to win and that there is no way those teams would let those kind of things happen. I wanted to believe there was a conspiracy, because I don't root for DEI, but it just can't be. You make that bs claim to someone in the Hendrick organization right now, you better be prepared to duck. AND I WOULDN' BLAME THEM A BIT. I know , and Saddam never had WMDs too. It was all a conspiracy. ------------------ BackinBlack

If Martin couldn't win, I was glad Johnson could and I'm not a Hendrick fan.You can't deny he (Johnson) is not the hottest one out there now. ------------------

Randy - he is 'red hot' right now, at the right time, agree. Must have something to do with those Carquest Auto Parts that the Hendrick's teams are using this year, lol.

As long as the 97 doesn't win I will be happy, as for NASCAR helping certain teams, NO WAY......JMO I would love to see Martin win the championship,,,He's the only one who races cleanly... AS for Richard Petty, I remember that race like it was yesterday, He had left side tires on the right side(they used to run softer compound on the left side)AND JUST happened to have a LARGE displacement motor in there toooooooooooooo...
