tonight we noticed gas took a jump back up over $ 2 a gallon around here but the real eye opener was that diesel was selling for $ 2.25 a gallon. That is a huge price increase, isn't it? The truckers have got to be hurting. |

quote: Where can I get some of that cheap gas? $2.19 reg unl - $2.39 hi octane and we are usually 20 cents a gallon behind Callyforniaa. To recoup our tax dollars to liberate Iraq, we need to pump those oil fields dry. Let's hear it for 99 cent gas, lol. |

quote: I hear the oil pipeline into AZ is out of commission, that could be part of increase in AZ. BUT here in Indiana I don't understand Diesel being 2.24 a gallon.....Gary where are you getting such CHEAP diesel for 2.14? might have to go back to driving my 8MPG Bronco if Diesel prices don't come back down...........LOL But really we have been lucky that fuel prices have been as low as they are for years when the rest of the world was paying $3~$5 a gallon and we had it for a buck Even my Goldwing is getting expensive to ride...hehehe |

I am sure glad I do not drive, I have put in 1 tank of gas in the Prowler since I returned from the Moddersville run. I just filled my 57 yesterday I think the last time was around the Moddersville run. Renae does all the running for me, I guess if I really looked at the check book to see how much she spends on gas a week Id freak. FYI the old van holds 40 gallons and she needs to fill it twice a week. ------------------ |

Wildcat - our gas pipeline from Fontana, Ca was closed down for one day only because of a accident on top of it. They checked it for damage,,,,none, so the gas is flowing again. Az gets 70% of it's gas from Ca and 30% from Texas. There are some investors here that want to build a huge new refinery out in the desert 30 miles away from Phx,,,,,but the legal red tape and federal laws are making it nearly impossible to do. Another million people moving here and 3,000 more 7-11s and Circle Ks,,,,and we'll be in deep trouble. |

A few weeks ago they raised prices in anticipation of the shutdown of refineries due to the upcoming storms/hurricanes. How can you raise prices in anticipation. All the stations raise them at the same time. I guess the gas is delivered everywhere at the same instant! My point was diesel has really skyrocketed. |

Rack (wholesale) prices have been constantly increasing. Diesel prices historically have spiked this time of year due to conversion of distillate stock to home heat fuel, but curtainly not as much as this year. Ed - Supply was disrupted during the unusual hurricane season. Any disruption causes a spike in prices and these price increases are instantaneous at the terminals throughout the system. Most stations that have survived the problem of the past few months/years do enough volume that the inventory has to be replaced in a day or two, so this higher cost replacement fuel is dropped, thus higher retail prices. Unfortunately a disruption due to a hurricane in FL will effect retail prices in OH. I'm not justifing what the a**hole majors do, just trying to explain the marketplace. It's killing us distributors! My inventory cost was 90 cents last year, it's $1.90 this year. Gas & oil distributors are folding up or selling out at cost of equipment/real estate all over the country. I just hope I don't have to sell my Prowler and all other non-essentials this year and my home next year. ------------------ |

Gar - Flying J is on the west side of Phx.,,,about 25 miles one way. They usually have the best prices, but too far to drive. When on the road, I always track the Flying J stations. Good prices and clean johns to launch from. |

Diesel cost more in the winter up north because they have to thin it down because In Cold weather regular Diesel will gel up and will operate in an engine. The additive thins the diesel and allow it to stay liquid in cold climates. |
