A few things you need to know in order to “get” where this is coming from.

Mike Tice is the coach of the NFL Minnesota Vikings
Daunte Culpepper is the starting quarterback of the Vikings
The Vikings have a pass oriented offense

But of course if you didn’t know these things already, you probably won’t think this is very funny.

Being a lifelong Viking fan, I found this just hilarious …

During his KFAN radio show Wednesday night, Tice took a call from a listener named "Steve." The caller wanted to know if Vikings coaches have meetings to develop game plans or if they just wing it on Sundays.
"Because it seems like you should just throw it deep every play," the man said.
Host Dan Barreiro asked the caller if he had never played football.
"I played a little bit down at Central Florida," the man replied.
"Daunte?" asked Tice, laughing.
"Yeah, Coach," Culpepper said. "I just wanted to punk you a little bit."

Culpepper is have a potential record season. With Moss, Robinson, Burelson and Campell as the wide-outs, and Moore in the backfield, they look pretty impressive. The real shoot-out will be November 8th against the Colts in Indianapolis. I'll be watchin' WHealy! Gonna wear Bob's hat that night???

Thanks Bob. To me, I just giggle every time I think about it ...

Prowler - I thought you were going to be deer hunting? They have cable hook up out in the MN woods? Yes, Mr. Realrod was kind enough to get me a Viking hat after last year when you got us and my wife into my first home game. I've been looking at tickets, but I don't think I'll need the hat indoors.

On a side note, I had my Vikings shirt on today at work. Someone stopped my and asked if I was taking my shirt off in a couple weeks implying for the Monday Night game. I said I was a life long fan so no. Besides, no one wants to see me with my shirt off!

Bill,

For some strange reason they don't allow hunting after dark in Minnesota. So I'll be at the local watering hole watching the game, and wishing I could have been there. Thanks again for the invite though!

Duane
