This car was on display at the SE Mopar meet this past September. They said at the event the car was NOT going into production. They also said the designer was no longer employed by DC. The implication was but no said directelt that he was fired. True or not I don't know its just what I heard form the DC folks in attendance.

There is an article in this months Automobile magazine where the press was able to take a limited test drive in one that they were still working on. I believe it said that they were going forward and should have the limited production units out in three years.

There were some pretty good photos and reviews, but they did say because of some transmission problems, they had it governed down so not to tear it up during the test drives.

Reread that Automobile article. They said they are still considering it but, no pricing or timeline.

I suspect, if they even build it, they will wait and see how the Ford GT does after the initial hoopla is over.

Paying $200K for a vehicle that shares do-dad parts with the same bin as say a Focus is not exactly an real exotic and most exotic buyers want something that is, well, exotic and unique down to the last nut and bolt.

The lead guy (but not designer) was Wolfgang Bernhard who eventually left DC and is now on the board of management for Volkswagen. It's likely that when his non-compete runs out, he will run VW. The car was built in secrecy and although Dieter Zetsche was involved, it was kept from Juergen Shrempp.
