I recognize that I'm a relative newcomer here so I apologize in advance if what I'm about to suggest is out of line or puts anyone on the spot, but I had my turn with the IRS about 17 years ago and they are just no fun whatsoever. The idea that Dan has to sell his beloved Prowler to satisfy the IRS offends every one of my sensibilities. Here's a potential solution, as crazy as it may first seem: Since I don't "bat an eye" at spending $100 on even the most minimal mod to my Prowler, it doesn't require a whole lot of deliberation on my part for me to offer to kick in $100 towards Dan's little "problem" if it would help him keep his car. I feel fortunate and grateful that I am not faced with such an unpleasant and difficult circumstance, and feel compelled to share my good fortune. Dan's situation is fairly serious. It would take 350 benevolent souls out there in Prowlerland who are in an appropriate financial position and are willing to do the same (I fully understand that everyone's financial situation is different) to make Dan's problem go away. If that can happen, no one is worse for wear, and he gets to keep his Prowler. And we get to do something really special. Add your name to the list if you're comfortable with that. Don't respond at all if it in any way makes you uncomfortable. No one will judge anyone one way or the other. I apologize again for putting anyone on the spot. That is not my intention - after talking to Dan today about a variety of things, I have no doubt he would do the same for any of us if the tables were turned. I'm sure many of you know him much better than I do, and know exactly what I'm talking about. God Bless. 1. Bill LaPierre $100 2. Dr. Prowler $100 3. WarmNCool $100 4. Butchcee $100 5. bbcar $100 6. Marty Usher $100 7. Ken736cc $50 8. George Maxey $100 9. Tom Santella $100 10. MeanGene $100 11. Neal & Mary Anne Bardens $100 12. Jimscool Custom Stained Glass piece to be auctioned 13. Dan, I really have no extra bucks, but I'll kick in the $100 for you if you can get the rest needed to pay the bills and keep the Cat. Count me in.

Bill - I hope your post helps Dan be able to keep his car. You can use the money from the chrome shift knob to add to the fund. Maybe some other people who, like me, are ina crunch situation also might have a spare part or two they can sell and add the proceeds. Also, now would be a good time for anyone thinking about a banner to step up and pay Dan to work his magic with his graphic abilities.

I don't know Dan, and I have never met anyone on this forum personally. I have learned a lot of valuable information, and the camaraderie of Prowler owners comes through loud and clear. I can't imagine this happening on any other car site. If you can do Paypal, I'm in for $50.00

i 'll be honest...... i borrowed every cent to by my prowler and am lookin at 5 years of high payments to keep her....this blue collar guy doesn't have any money to spare as i now have some big vet bills for my golden lab that just didn't make it... what i would like to do is make a stained glass item to donate for a raffel to help Dan... My work is second to none and i've been doing the art for over 25 years.. i have lots of supplies so all it would cost me is time...if you guys are interested i could do something prowler related to sell some tickets at a club function..i would need a few weeks to design and make ....is there anything going on at christmas ? or would that be to late ?

Morning all I've received emails from a number of you - your input is greatly appreciated. Two excellent suggestions were made by fellow POA members: 1. I didn't stop to think that there would be those who would like to help but would prefer to remain anonymous. If that's the case, you are welcome to email me and your contribution will simply be posted as being from an "anonymous POA member". 2. I didn't mean to infer that you needed to contribute $100 in order to participate in the quest to save Dan's Prowler from the IRS - that was just a random figure I threw out there - if there are folks out there who would like to contribute in ANY way, please, feel free to do whatever you can - as was suggested to me this morning, if enough people contributed just $10 or $20 each, we'd still succeed. You can add it to the thread, or if you prefer anonymity, email me and let me know what you'd like to do and I'll handle it accordingly. To clarify one important issue - no one will be asked to send any money until we've reached the goal - at that time we can all select an appropriate party to handle consolidation of the funds and make arrangements to get it to Dan at that time. You truly are an amazing group of people. This is a remarkable example of what us "fellow humans" can accomplish if we can all pull together as a team in pursuit of a common goal. Humbly yours, Bill (BuckNekkid) Jeez. I really do have to start using my spellchecker. Especially in the morning This message has been edited by BuckNekkid on 09-30-2004 at 09:33 AM
